| Recent Review: | | I could not agree more with what these other residents have written.Do yourself a favor and stop by on some weekend night before you even THINK of moving to Andante Apartments in Phoenix.Management completley horrible (especially Mandy - the main manager) Brian I agree is good, but he's pretty much powerless.The rent is low, but it means you'll be living next to people who are going to fight and party all night and probably break into you car.There is no security (they list a security officer, but if you try to call him all he does is tell you to call the police - he says that he's not employeed to patrol or respond to anything (no kidding - he's just a cop who lives here who gets a rent discount if he lets them list his phone number - he told me that)Anyway, here are a few articles about the killing spree that went on here last year (managment STILL will no offer security.---Deadly stabbing spree leaves Ahwatukee apartment tenants shaken upLindsey CollomThe Arizona RepublicOct. 13, 2004 02:20 PMStunned residents of a high-end Ahwatukee Foothills apartment complex are still trying to piece together a stabbing spree that left two dead and one in critical condition.Residents ran from their apartments about 11:20 p.m. Tuesday night after hearing a fire alarm. Once outside they saw a woman sprawled across a walkway. They thought she was drunk.That woman was a 28-year-old mother, stabbed to death in her doorway as her infant lay inside. She was one of three victims as a tenant in the complex went on a rampage that started with his roommate. At one point the attacker broke into an apartment and started stabbing one of its occupants until they beat him off with a baseball bat.I'm just trying to figure out how he got into the apartment," said Audrey MacIntosh, 37, who lives in the complex. "It scares me. It's just me and my two boys."MacIntosh moved into the Andante Apartments at 15801 S. 48th St. last year for a second time, returning because she liked the gated community so much. It was safe, she said.But her sense of safety was jarred Wednesday morning when her mother called about the stabbing after seeing it on TV. MacIntosh had no idea; her apartment is in a different part of the complex."I never in a million years would have thought," she said. "I leave the door open. I walk to the store at night. I won't be doing much walking anymore."As residents spent much of the morning Wednesday chatting with neighbors to try and figure out what happened, police surveyed the scene and logged evidence.Phoenix police say a 26-year-old man, Matthew E. Cunningham, lived in the complex and stabbed his victims with a kitchen knife.Police say he first killed his 38-year-old roommate, then killed a neighbor, the 28-year-old mother.According to police he then broke into a second-story apartment where a 20-year-old man and his young wife live. Police say the man was repeatedly stabbed by the suspect but fought back with a baseball bat. Cunningham, 26, whose brain is swollen from injuries he received when one of the victims and his wife tried to fend him off with a baseball bat, according to police.One friend said the Ahwatukee Foothills resident he knows wouldn't have been capable of doing what police allege if he were sober"I would never have expected anything like that from him," said Joe Moutard of Detroit, Cunningham's friend. The eatery was steps away from their apartment complex near 48th Street and Chandler Boulevard.But the two didn't get along well, Moutard said. His friend mentioned that Barker was often depressed, and they tried to stay away from one another. Yet, Cunningham also took a job with Va Bene.He was working 15 hours a week as a waiter but was looking for more. His employers say that is why Cunningham agreed Tuesday morning to leave Va Bene and seek employment as a limousine driver.What happened between then and 11:30 p.m. is the subject of neighborhood chatter and police investigation.Police are looking into the possibility Cunningham was fueled by drugs. Or it could have been a manifestation of grief over his father's death in August. The first answer is most likely, Moutard said, because he said his friend couldn't have been sober and able to do what police allege."It's sad that no one could see this coming and get him the help he needed before anything like this could happen," he said. "That's not the Maddy I know, and I'll miss him." |

| Recent Review: | | While living here, mantenence service was extremely slow and unreliable, apon move in, apartment was still dirty from previous renter, had car broken into and stereo stolen, then 6 months after moving out because my husband was called back to the military for duty, we are contacted by a credit agency stating we owe over $700 in due fees. I had given the Apt manager our forwarding address, expecting a refund of our deposit. We were never contacted by the Apt manager in regaurds to oweing a dime. We were very clean tenants, but realised some of the deposit would be needed for cleaning, we had a 2yr old daughter, who made some stains on the carpet and would need a good shampooing, but other than that, we left the apartment in extremely good condition. Now, our credit rating is damaged for the ignorance of a poor manager. Don't be a good renter like we were and end up screwed like we are now! |

| Recent Review: | | When I checked the previous rating I thought that the person must of had a bad day.I still reside at these apartments and I love their service and their staff is wonderful.I rate these apartments the best because not only are they nice and elegant but they are at a low cost and the customer service with Maintenance has also been plesent they work very hard and long hours I appreciate all their hard work. |

| Recent Review: | | I have been living in apartments since 1992.This is the worst apartment I moved into.The management does not care about tenant concerns.The support staff are so unfriendly and unprofessional.I would not advice anyone with some sanity to move into this place. There are so many other nicer places in the neighborhood.The rents are also too high!! |

| Recent Review: | | The manager allows stray cats to roam the property. Feral cat population. Does not address noise complaints, even though our lease is supposed to protect us from noisy neighbors. Let's undesireable people move in. She is slowly turning this place into a dump.Many tenants have the same complaints. Lets people abandon junk cars in the parking lot. Uses the cheapest labor & materials when apts are refurbished. |
