Recent Review:I enjoyed living on campus my first year because it was easy to just walk to class. The apartment wasn't huge but neither are most near campus. Plus it's clean because it's only a couple of years old. Also maintenance is very nice and were always extremely fast and efficient. My ony complaint is that the walls are thin so you can't really turn your music up without annoying neighbors. Overall though, it's a pretty nice choice if you can get in.
2. Alexan At World Gateway

Orlando  FL, 32821

Recent Review:I moved into this community being that it was sold as gated and secure with video cameras recording everything.Instead what I received was monthly notices telling us about apartments being broken into and ghetto cars hightailing you into the parking lot. There was only 1 security camera of the initial 4 by the time I moved out of this place. Not to mention a trash dumpster that is generally overflowing and inconvient. For as new as this place is, it's worn. The stairs may be made of concrete, but the walls are made out of paper...thin paper.

Recent Review:These are not your typical college apartments though they're less than a mile away from UCF and many students live here.First, these apartments are built MUCH better than the shitty college apartments around where you can hear everything through the walls.I lived in the studio and couldn't hear through the walls unless the someone was screaming on top of their lungs. However, if someone is out in the common hallway area right outside your door, you can hear everything then (so potential studio renters, be aware of that). They have a good noise control policy in place (5 complaints and then they start evicting), so if you want to have a lot of parties, do not move in there. The major drawback(s) were:(1) Parking sucked(2) No washer/dryers inside the apartment (at least not in my studio)(3) Hearing neighbors outside the door if you live in a studioI paid 522 per month + the 300 membership fee for my apartment, and it was a good experience b/c it was my first time living alone w/o any roommates and that was the only place I could afford that was near school.Pricey, but worth it if you want to try living on your own.Management here is better than any others around the area.
5. Auvers Village
5840 Auvers Blvd

Recent Review:I lived in Auvers Village for two years. When I first moved in it was one of the better complexes around....slowly it became more and more ghetto. My girl couldnt even go to the mailbox without three wanna be gangsters trying to get up with her and just after the hurricanes hit Equity (the company that owns Auvers and alot of complexes in this area) decided to move residents with damaged apartments from a much much cheaper rent complex down in south orlando in. The place went to hell....now its all car loads of people riding around the complex non stop blasting loud Ragaeton at all hours of the day and night....my friend who still lives there said he was accosted at the dumpster one night by a group of these folks because when he threw his trash bag in there he failed to notice that two of them were inside trying to salvage an old mattress. The bottom line is that Equity has their priorities screwed up....they offer great deals when you move in then rasie the rent substantially on you every chance they get. My girl and I found a nice two bedroom house in beautifull DOWNTOWN WINTER PARK for only 200 dollars a month more than the two bedroom dumps at Auvers. Take your money elsewhere....especially if you have a few people living with you...get a house.

Recent Review:Wow, what a gross place this was when I lived there for college so many years ago.Maybe it has changed, but I'll share my experience from back then.First of all, these were four-bedroom units, and you were basically renting a room and a common area which you shared with the other roommates. It was basically a fancy dorm.I guess that because these apartments were inhabited predominantly by college students, the staff had absolutely no concern about the comforts and cleanliness of the place. When I moved in, my room and the common areas were absolutely filthy from the previous residents -- they couldn't even have bothered to clean up and sanitize for a new tenant.I should have moved out right then, but it was a few days before school started, and I was stuck.Throughout the year, various drunk kids who thought they were funny would vandalize and make the place look like a dump, and the staff and maintenance never did a thing about it.Somebody threw a pie at our front door, and it stayed there for months until I finally moved out. There were constant loud parties being that it was a college place, so forget getting any sleep the night before an exam.Sorry, but I'd rather party at someone else's place, and come home to a nice peaceful one.The worst part was the manager of the leasing office -- what an absolute beast.I guess she assumed that since people's mommies and daddies were paying the rent, that she didn't owe the residents any respect or attention to their concerns. When I moved in, there was disgusting mold under the vinyl flooring in the bathroom.I asked to have this changed several times, and it never happened. To add insult to injury, when I moved out, she took the damage for the mold out of my security deposit! There was no response to my phone calls, so I actually had to drive back up from out of town to fight them for my money back, and they only paid me a partial amount. If I had to do it over again, I would have rented a real apartment.
8. Brandywood Apartments

Orlando  FL, 32807

Recent Review:I was looking for a quite place to live in and a new community, and not to mention a suitable price for myself and my family. I found that Brandy Wood Apts. was just the place I was looking for.During their renovation, I moved into a newly renovated unit with new appliances, carpet, and even new cabinets!!! I have so much space for all of my belongings. The area is around all the local supermarkets. I'm glad I stopped in this hidden place that I now call home.
9. Briar Creek Apartments
5575 Rosebriar Way
Orlando  FL, 32822
32.3
Recent Review:Lived at Briar Creek for 4 years, stayed because of great location. It was nothing special; a roof over my head until I bought a house. Experience was adequate ... until I moved out and received my final account statement.

Management said they intended to keep my entire security deposit because "nothing was cleaned". On top of that, they said I owed an additional $60 because the cheaply-made blinds were damaged (normal wear and tear I say). I vacuumed twice and my fiancee and her mom cleaned the apartment, so I went in person to see if it was a mistake and spent 10 minutes getting talked down to by Property Manager Cathy Kincaid. I was told that I "abused the apartment" and "left it a mess" because the sinks, tubs, toilets weren't scrubbed back to a pristine ivory state and the carpet had a couple of small stains in the high traffic areas. (This was after the complex steam-cleaned the carpets upon 2 lease renewals and my brother also did it a couple weeks before I moved)

When I responded that all this was normal wear and tear and that I thought they would be gutting the apartment anyway and putting in new things after 4 years of use (and that I didn't intend to pay for it), I was told by Ms. Kincaid that "we should be able to use our carpets and fixtures for 9-10 years if they're maintained properly". If you're coming into a place and paying $800 rent, don't you expect to have new carpeting and newish fixtures? When I told her that I didn't do anything different from when I left my last 2 apartments and never had a claim against my deposit, she said, "So you abuse your apartments and then don't clean them up?" I took this as a character attack because this is the first time the woman had ever seen me.

Before leaving I mentioned that they hadn't credited me for my workout room deposit after I returned the key. It wasn't even acknowledged.

This case is still in the stage of sending certified letters back and forth, but if I am forced to pay the $60 they say I know, thanks to their use of posturing to keep my deposit money, I will be forced to refer to their manager as a SLUMLORD. I faithfully paid rent on time for 50-odd months, and this episode has been enough to change my opinion of Briar Creek from a favorable one to a strongly unfavorable one.

10. Bristol Place At Metrowest
2207 Lake Debra Dr
Orlando  FL, 32835
24.0
Recent Review:I have been at Bristol Place for almost 6 months and it has been a pleasant stay. This is a good place for young professionals and I am hoping it stays this way.My one complaint is that the occupants above me do not have consideration for people living around them and come in at all times of the night stomping and running around so much you'd swear they were on speed. As long as you don't live under the occupants I am living under, you should really enjoy your stay here.
