| Recent Review: | | When I first moved here Amanda (leasing Consultant) and Jennifer (manager) was very nice. However, Management has now changed and SOME of the office staff members act as if you they are doing you a favor by helping you with issues. Isn't it the tenants that employee them???? The Alara is a pretty nice place to live. however, it does has some issues.1.) It usually takes maintenance 3 or 4 visits to correct a problem.2.) Water bills are based on the complexes consumption. They are not based on individual comsumption. A small one bedroom apartment will cost $30 per month no matter how much water you use. RIDICULOUS :(3.) Office Staff is sometimes difficult to deal with. They do not appreciate their tenants. |

| Recent Review: | | Please beware of this apartment complex. They lure people in with what appear to be GREAT discounts but its a scam. If your rent is 4 hours late, they will charge you the discount plus a $100 late fee.They are looking to recoup the funds they gave you in discount in anyway they can and they know once you are in a lease, you have no choice but to pay them or your credit is destroyed.They have gouged us out of more money.They submeter the water and the fees are exorbitant. When questioned, no one can provide you proof that you actually used that amount of water.The late fee is a flat fee that is greater than 50% of the total bill and again, you have no choice but to pay this ridiculous amount of money.They refuse to let you speak to the property manager at any time, saying she won't help you anyway.Just be careful when looking at these apartments. There are a lot of things they don't tell you up front!!! |

| Recent Review: | | I actually lived in this apartment complex from 2003 to the end of 2004 when I broke my lease.In the 1.5 years I live here the gate maybe worked 4 months.While I was out of town, the apartment right across from mine was broken into while the girl was home.Think someone from the office would have let me know??NO!I found out as they were moving out when I asked them why they were moving.Another one of my neighbors (who lived upstairs- I had a downstairs apartment) informed me there was a peeping tom looking in the downstairs windows at night.When I questioned the leaseing office about both of these incidents they had noting to say, knew nothing about either of them.Another one of my neighbors had his car broken into and his stero was stolen.The only reason I knew of this was b/c he took it upon himself to go door to door letting his neighbors know.One of the reasons I choose these apartments was because they all came with alarm systems.Apon moving in I was told all units had them, but not a one of them was hooked up to anything.They just make noise, but thats it.The leasing office did nothing about the noise at night.One night somebodys car alarm was going off, I'm not kidding, the entire night.It was busted.They just kept coming outside and turning it off.Two seconds later it would turn right back on.This went on from about 7pm to 3 or 4am.I was laying in bed listening to it.I called to complain earlier that night, but obviously, nothing was done.I read the other reviews posted here and both of them mentioned the maintaince staff.I never had a problem with them.Anytime something needed fixing in my apartment it was always done that day or the next.While living here I was rarely ever outside by myself.I wouldn't recommend walking around alone.I couldn't work out in the crappy little gym (only 1 in 3 tredmills worked and the weight lifting machine served well as chairs for people without cable in their own apartments to go to the gym to watch tv) without someone bothering me.I'll stop now b/c I could go on and on about this place.If you want my advice.DO NOT LIVE HERE!One last thing about this place.....I stumbled across this website on accident b/c I looking around the internet for a phone number to call the leasing office to pay my last months rent.I don't live there anymore and still owe them money for breaking the lease.I can't even pay the last month's rent I owe them b/c I can't get ahold of anyone.The phone number all over the internet is an answering service for them b/c no is in the office right now.It's a Tuesday afternoon.I've been trying for over an hour.How can nobody be in the office from 3-4 pm on a Tuesday??? |

| Recent Review: | | Looking for a Luxury Apartment?Look again.The office staff is nice enough unless you have ants.Then it's the run around.Gated?Yeah.Broken all the time.Clean pool?Uh huh. . .except when all the handicapped people and kids dirty it up.Apparantly they give Just People a special deal.I have NOTHING against people with handicaps, but I don't want them as my neighbors if they are going to be screaming all the time and making a mess at the pool.I also don't like to be asked for money, cigarettes, candy, permission to pet my cat or play with my 9 year old child.Some of these poor people need to be in an assisted living environment.If you want to pay too much for less than luxurious amenities, come here! |

| Recent Review: | | This place is a wreck! The staff is horrible and the buildings are falling apart. When I moved in I filled out the move in inspection.This consisted of a leaky toilet in the master bath, a leak in the second bedroom window, a dishwasher that backed up old food in the sink everytime I ran it, missing magnets on the medicine cabnets (which is very hazerdous when you have a three year old), lighting outside my unit was out and it took three months to get it replaced this forced me to walk down a dark breeze way with a child and not knowing what was lurking by my door, not to mention sevral other ins and outs wrong with the unit. I called over and over to try and get them to send someone to fix these things but of coarse it never happened. Management and staff is dreadful. It was the year from hell!!! Do not subject yourself and family to the unsanitary and hazardous conditions that GRANDE DUMP will force you to live in. Don't do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

| Recent Review: | | I lived here only 1 year--11 months too long!! It is not safe at Merritt-the parking lot on weekends is "party/drug" time for non residents--how they get in & why they came here was something I never understood. Management is pure CRAP!!! They were aware of problem too!!! Lived across from car wash-Oh My God-people just didn't care how loud they played their music or even what time it was!!! RUN!!!! |

| Recent Review: | | We lived at River Oaks for a year and a half and loved it. The office staff was always nice and helpful (the staff changed as we moved out). The maintence staff was great they always were very polite and took care of any problems quickly. We have two young kids and when we would take them to the pool it would be empty it was like having your own pool. |

I felt management was not a strong point of this complex and they were not a very professional group.The office always seemed to be closed because they were out on the grounds or had to close early for a meeting&The gates were never working and were always open.The repair department was always right on site and punctual and getting problems resolved, which was always a plus |

| Recent Review: | | This place irritates me.The Jacuzzi has never worked for 4 years now.There is crime all the time.They raised the rent on us even after being there for a long time, not to mention we have never been late on rent and we have never had any complaints on us.The gates are ALWAYS broken...the gym treadmills are always broken.And the worst part of all...the electric company they use, Viterra or Ista (same company) rips you off on your electric bill.I have seen cheaper electric bills owning a house. It's ridiculous.It's like average of $130.00 a month....and I am a very conservative person with my bills. |
