| Recent Review: | | I am apologizing in advance for the length of this review, and any grammatical errors. This review is long but very worth reading. I am begging anyone who has ever come to this site as I did BEFORE I moved in to take heed to what people are saying about this community. I was looking for a great place to live with space and great amenities, and this was even close to my work.A friend of mine told me that she had passed this complex and they looked great.Being the skeptic that I am I did what most people should do.I called myself investigating for problems. My sister and I drove up late one night to try and get into the complex to see what the grounds looked like. Were people hanging out in the parking lots late at night and such. We were able to get through the gates with ease because they were not working, but I thought that at least they had gates and were going to get them fixed I hoped. We drove around and found it to be quiet and clean.I was glad, so we decided to come by the next day on our lunch break. We went on the Internet to see what information we could find about the apartments before coming. We found this Website with not so favorable ratings, but I thought that maybe I should go and give them the benefit of the doubt because everyone deserves that. When we got here I got the most excellent greeting from a young man that worked here, he was pleasant and charming. He told us he could not give us tour at that time, but he would schedule me an appointment when he had what I was looking for available.I said sure and left.I came alone to my appointment with the flyer he had given me of the apartment rates.I loved what is saw.The apartments were large and clean and the amenities were nice.I told him about what I had read and he said that you know how some people are and I tried to remember how many complaints I had read, and decided that they werent enough to deter me.I took an application and started working on it. I talked to him almost everyday up to a couple of days before I was to sign my lease. Then all hell broke lose. When I called back he was no longer working here.Per my conversations with him, I had been approved and should be ready to move in on Friday when I came to sign my lease.I should have known I was doing the wrong thing, I had been warned 3-times by now. 1-The gates, 2-When the agent took me to look at the apartment he had to stop and talk to a renter who was about to move in but his apartment had not been painted or cleaned. 3-This Website. Hardheaded me: I called them a couple of days before I was to move in and get the pro-rated amount to pay on Friday.I was told a larger amount than I had agreed upon.I was told the apartment was about 40.00 per month more than what I was told then, and that did not include the amenities that I had requested.I said no that is not what I agreed to.I asked for the agent that had helped me to be told that he did not work there any longer and that this was the price. Can you understand the blackness getting ready to rise in me.I wanted to speak to the manager who was of course not available.I said that she should call me or that I would be calling corporate. They asked me what was the price I was quoted.I told them then they said I would get a call back.On Thursday, my call comes with a pleasing voice telling me that they will honor the price the agent had given me, however now I had to pay a deposit.I was upset but I agreed.I felt that I was getting what I wanted in the end. On Friday I came to sign the lease.I am going through the documentation with the woman and she asks me for my renters insurance information.I said what.Yes you are required to have renters insurance here, however no one told me before I moved in.Lets see I just dished out and additional 450.00 for deposit I was not aware of now I have to get renters insurance and get my lights on today before they will complete the lease.Lets see I have movers ready for Saturday early morning move that are being paid by the hour, and its late in the evening.I was livid, but now I was in a bind.I had to be out of my living arrangements by Saturday and they were coming with some BULL!I had not choice by now, luckily I have wonderful insurance agents at State Farm who get everything going for me, but I was out an additional 12.00 per month I had not budgeted for. When I came to check the apartment out that I was to move in, I was so upset. Here I am all set to move my things in the next day and the apartment seemed as if it had not been cleaned in over a month. There were dead spiders everywhere, and little dead bugs.It was not nasty but I knew it had not been cleaned recently.I went ahead and moved in anyways. My Dumb A-S thinking that okay now everything is fine and I can start working out next week, and I can start enjoying my place.First the gym did not work. Not one machine in the whole damned building worked. The electric machines did not have what ever they needed to get them activated, and the weight machines had no pins in them.I went down and inquired about this.I was told oh we are getting NEW machines in TWO WEEKS.I was pleased and went on my merry way.Now dealing with neighbors from hell on both ends.My upstairs neighbors seemeed to be doing tumbling acts all day I assumed they did not work, because I would come home for lunch and they would start tumbling or moving furniture as it sounded, not to mention the vacuuming at 10 or 11pm at night. Then the neighbors across the hall like to leave stuff garbage, baby strollers, toys out side the apartment EVERY DAY.Of course I was told that if I did these things I would be fined.Things just started falling apart from there.I moved in and the washer started leaking, it took days before anyone came to see about it.The toilet broke, it took days before anyone came to fix it.Months went by and the NEW MACHINES were still due in TWO WEEKS.Every time I saw them bringing someone to look at a unit I wanted to say DONT DO IT, RUN FOR YOUR LIVES, ITS NOT WORTH THE AGGRAVATION.The next things that happened was one day I am out with my family and I get a call from the apartments telling that they had calculated my prorate wrong and I owed them five dollars, when could I bring it in.I wasnt going to do it but my boyfriend being the sensible person he is said that if I did not do it he would. He doesnt understand that it wasnt the five dollars it was the fact that I paid them what they said I had to pay.I paid the five dollars and thought that my headache with them was over, but no.The next thing to happen was the gym was finally open.Halleluiah.My sister and I went up and started working out.We met two really nice women and ended up with a renters meeting going on.One lady said every month her rent was going up because she had a water leak that they took months to fix, and her water bill kept going up.They were threatening to evict her, and she thought she finally got it straightened out only to find out that the lady that told her not to worry about the balance no longer worked here.I laughed it sounded all so familiar. The other lady told of her problems about finding them online when she lived out of the state. She also saw this Website but disregarded it as I did.She was not able to negotiate her rent down to what they had promised her, and since the gym never worked she ended up having to join one, additional money she was not counting on.We thought about putting up a sign and asking who else had problems, but we did nothing. We just let more unsuspecting people get caught in this trap.My most disgusting problem was my trifling neighbors with dogs.Too many to tell which ones were the problem.I got ready for work and almost stepped into DOG POOH.I was pissed.I went to the leasing office and waited (running late for work, but I waited).I talked to someone I had never seen before of course and told her what had happened. She said, well you know it is up to the individuals to take care of there animals waste.I said I know that but apparently they dont all I want to know is can you send someoneout there to pick it up.Well the cleaning crew isnt scheduled for a couple of days. What about maintenance. She said she would put a letter on all the doors about their responsibilities of cleaning up after their dogs.Even after the 3rd time I still havent seen any letters on anyones doors. And no, the pooh just got washed away no one cleaned it up.And now to my final problem which broke the camels back.I not being a financial wizard and taking my part of the responsibility want to say that I misjudged my account and bounced a check. One month before I was to leave this awful place.I got a call and was told an amount AND that it had to be paid in 48hrs.I tried to get there before they closed but I did not make it.So me being the person that I am feeling bad about the mishap.I got the money order for 1.00 more than what the manager had told me the amount was.TODAY a week later I get a letter telling me that I am short 3.00 and I have 24hr to pay it.I tried to call them but they were closed and did not have an answering machine, good for me and them I guess.I am as non violent as I could be however they provoked something that I know made my blood pressure go up today.Oh and I forgot the ants that invaded my place and I was told that well you only have two more weeks until its over.I dealt with that because it would be a week before they would send the bug man to spray.Know I ask you have I had enough or have I had enough.PLEASE I BEG YOU DO NOT MOVE HERE.LISTEN TO THESE PEOPLE.I have one more month and I am seriously thinking of putting a sign on my truck begging people not to move here.I think that tomorrow if they give me any grief about this 3.00 I am going to keep that white chalk that the mothers write all over their cars with urging people not to move here. This is just a little warning your you all. Have a blessed and wonderful apartment hunting life. Sincerely Very Up Set Renter |
