Recent Review:Lies, lies, and more lies.Roof Leaks! Drug dealers and prostitutes welcomed! Leasing agreement with a couple of local TRADE SCHOOLS which creates a couple of floors of animal house atmosphere throughout the building. The kids aren't very educated and it shows. They do not tell you this when you are looking for a place. They also do not tell you that you share the amenities with a building they manage down the street which is barely above a section 8 property. Maintenence is good. Security is abhorant.Minimum wager cop want to be'sthat let their hood friends hang out with them when they are working.Just DON'T do it.Planned Property Management buildings are the laughing stock of the rental community.

Recent Review:Parking: somewhat difficult, but managableLocation: Pros: not owned by the Loyola campus, on-campus.Campus security often sits in alley by the apartment. Cons: always hearing drunk undergrads on Friday and Sat. Nights.Building: Pros: being improved, maintenance man lives in building and very friendly.Cons: with ongoing improvement there is still some mess, don't always complete projects in most timely manner.Tenants: Full of girls from the same sorority, loud, and messy in hallway.Treated like a dorm in an apartment building.Great if want that kind of atmosphere. Not so great for those who already graduated college and moved on from dorm life.Price: Heat included, reasonable for the size.Cats allowed, no pet deposit.

Recent Review:I rented a studio in this building for $630 a month... a steal for the Gold Coast area considering it's ont he corner of Division and Dearborn, but it wasn't worth the headaches. This building (as of spring 2003) was managed by a Chicago slum realty company called Metroplex (located at 222 N LaSalle, Suite 1414). The building superintendent was a dumpy guy named Ken, who was never around to fix anything. I saw him maybe a few times a month, which is unaceptable since he was supposed to be there from 9-5 on weekdays. According to apartments.com, this property is now managed by Linda Capriotti.During my 12 month lease, one of the tenants would urinate in the elevator on a daily basis (just a sample of what the tenants are like), and three months passed before the superintendent did anything about. In the end Ken removed the carpet completely, exposing the wood floor underneath. It did not stop the mystery urinator, who resumed his/her daily ritual of pissing on the floor, which I am convinced was a health risk.Other problems, which are far more severe: the fire escapes were blocked off with half-inch plywood for about two months in late 2002, so I called the City of Chicago to file a complaint. An inspector showed up, and he informed me the building (and its superintendent) had a history of legal problems, and thought 1164 N Dearborn should be condemned. We also went five days without heat in January, and another four days in February without hot water. On the fourth day, our hot water was brown and didn't run clear for about four hours. The building was not well kept, and it wasn't umcommon to find various insects crawling around once in a while. It's just barely a cut above a slum.Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this awful building. I never once felt safe living there, and can't imagine why anyone would want to live there. Oh yeah...I just remembered. The security system would break down at least once a month, and homeless drunks pass out in the lobby/intercom area all the time.Don't even bother. You deserve better, trust me.

Recent Review:It's a great deal ($600 a month), it's right by the lake, and all utilities are paid. They are small apartments, but it's comfortable enough to live in.The only problem is roaches keep returning no matter how many times I spray and infumigate the place. As long as you aren't bothered by the occasional roach glaring at you it's not to bad of a place.

Recent Review:My apartment is crappy and full of violations. The landlord has no bussiness being a landlord. To top things off the landlord has niether provided us with a smoke detector nor a carbon monoxide detector. I truly fear for my life living in that God forsaken hell hole of an apartment.
