| Recent Review: | | Vintage building near NU looks great at first glance. Day-to-day life proves otherwise. Lousy accoustics, lousy security, pleasant but overworked janitor, parking lot is dangerous in inclement weather, both neighbors having dogs that bark relentlessly, alley accesses are a disaster, laundry has only one washer/one dryer for 6 units, tenants are aware that they pay an equal share of the gas bill for the entire building, but are not warned that it can be as much as $400-$500 in the coldest Chicago January. Building owner has earned his reputation. |

| Recent Review: | | This apartment is pretty nice for the rent, but there is definitely a mouse problem.I've spotted two since I moved in3 months ago and have had similar complaints from other tenants.The maintenance is okay (pretty fast on reponse) adn the water pressure is lovely.The kitchen leaves much to be desired.Our kitchen had no window and was very small.The walls have at least 20 coats of paint on them and are cracked, bubbling, and peeling in many places.Even when we painted in here it didn't do much to hide the state of the walls.There are hardwood floors throughout, but one of the boards in our apartment caved in in the entryway and has yet to be replaced.They just rewired a lot of apartments in the complex, so you can use some of your |

| Recent Review: | | Overall, the staff is very nice. But the Reserve's shortcomings are out of their control.1. Good or bad, expect a lot of undergrad N'western student.2. For a brand new building, it's shocking how thin the walls are.Even if you never see your neighbor (next door, above you and below you), you'll hear everything about them.3. With windows open during warm-weather months, it's loud as the college kids come home late at night.4. Plus you have the commuter train traffic practically running through your living room.5. If you're into fitness, you'll end up buying a membership at the local health club.The Reserve's fitness equipment, while adequate, is what you'd get at a Marriott Courtyard Hotel -- very basic.6. This is not the safest part of Evanston... there have been late-night assaults near the apartment complex.Once again, not the Reserve's fault, but think about it for the money you put out. |
