| Recent Review: | | I have spent a few years here ...I hate to move but I can not take another year of this place .The last owners dumped this place and the new owners are so cheap, they fired half of the Managment and got rid of the grounds keepers ( that lived here ) .The building is old and every noise you make is heard by someone ..they have kids hanging out all over this place and the Managment will do nothing about nothing ...Its a waste of time .If you are smart, you would ask a few people in the buildings around here , how things are .You will hear about noise, kids screaming and Managment that will do nothing about anything .Good luck .. |

| Recent Review: | | Where to start?First, the noise in these apartments is tremendous.I can hear everyone in the hallway whether they are on the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd floor.I hear everyone that come in and out of the front door and when they go up and down the stairs (no elevator). My neighbors have no concept of the meaning of consideration for others. All of the apartment buildings all pets, including dogs.I like dogs as much as the next guy, but these dogs are barking at 6-7am and anytime you walk through the hall way. Most of the reason for the noise, besides inconsiderate neighbors, is that these builds are of poor craftsmanship.I have two words for you& steel and concrete.I believe these building were built in the 70s and are just wood frame with brick 1/3 of the way up, but offers little actual structural support. This takes me into my 2nd point, these building look good on the outside from a distance, but if you go inside or take a close look you will see just how cheaply the apartments are put together.I wish I could post pictures just so you could see the crap that they use in these apartments. The maintenance men are quick to get it done, but their craftsmanship is seriously lacking.Ive been studying medicine for the last 4 yrs and I could do a better job than these immigrants.I could go one for 3 pages about the lack of quality at these apartments, but I have finals to study for and will thus move one. Also note, when you move make sure you document every defect in the apartment and take pictures if you can, seriously. They will give you a form to do this on, but you will need a separate pad of paper and make copies for your self.Yes, its that bad. Some things to pay attention to: window screens, vinyl floors bathroom/kitchen, cabinets bathroom/kitchen (mine had water damage), carpet stains, window blinds.Third, if you dont get a W/D in your apartment and dont want to go to a laundry mat, there is a W/D per building on the first floor ($1.25 for each).Fourth, the summer months have the most theft here.My first 3 months (summer) there were several robberies.Ironically, most were instances when the thieves broke into the garages and took everything (motorcycles, tools, etc.).This is not nearly all of the stuff wrong with this place, but to sum up if you want to live in quality built/maintained apartment that has reasonable amount of quietness, you will need to go somewhere else.May I suggest the Wheaton Towers in Wheaton, IL (about 3 mi S.).Good luck, and if you would like to email me with questions, feel free, but I may not be able to answer because Im going to be doing clinical rotations over the next year. |
