| Recent Review: | | The apartment that I live in is nice, but, our current landlord is horrible at upkeep. The building itself has a basement that either floods or leaks after heavy rains (which is why I only store unimportant stuff in the storage area), and, there is paint peeling off of the ceilings in the hallway. We constantly have to do our own upkeep (replacing light bulbs that burn out and such) and the landlord only comes by for the rent checks. It is overpriced for the area, but, the place itself is rather large. The neighborhood is nice, despite the fact that the cops are overzealous in enforcing parking and sticker laws.We have issues within our place that include bugs getting in, and, mice at one point. Our landlord generally does not unless you bitch enough. She is currently trying to sell it, and, I feel sorry for the people who buy it.As for parking, you should always consider renting a space if you can find one. |

| Recent Review: | | The apartment is on the 6th floor of the building facing railroad and elevated train tracks so there is a lot of noise when trains pass by.Also, the windows in the apartment are not soundproof, so you hear the trains even with the windows closed.There is a laundry room on the same floor as the apartment.A pool, jacuzzi and sauna are located on the ground floor, but they are not well maintained so hardly anyone uses them.The building is close to all public transportation, which makes the commute to work nice and short. |

| Recent Review: | | The following are reasons I would NEVER recommend this hell-hole:1. Toilet has not worked well throughout entire lease.-I have called to have it fixed twice, but it still hardly flushes.2. Bath tub has been clogged ever since I moved in.-I still have to take five minute showers before the bathtub overfills, ortake showers at my health club.3. Bathroom sink has also been clogged ever since I moved in.-I have to wash my hands very quickly, or wash them over the kitchen sink.4. Have heard mice in between walls on many occasions.-Complained, but never got responses.5. Live on third floor, and have had seen many centipedes and spiders.-Complained, but never got responses.6. Kitchen sink has been clogged ever since we moved in.-Management has been unable to fix this problem, so washing the dishes has been near impossible.7. Garbage disposal was broken for three months.-One of the problems that has been taken care of, after a month of complaints.8. Air conditioner rarely worked throughout hot summer.-I once called the very unfriendly management as an emergency after closing hours to fix the air conditioner on our hottest summer night, and it took two hours to come. After examining the air conditioner, he decided that it could not be fixed, I then waited for the unit to be replaced until the next day, and it still continued to not work. It is now late fall.9. Heater has not worked throughout entire lease. It is mid-November, and the heater is still not working and management refuses to acknowledge the problem.10. Was given apartment with one broken doorknob lock, and no upper lock.-Was taken care of after several weeks of not having a lock after move-in date.11. Extremely difficult to find parking spaces.-As soon as I do find a spot, I have to keep it there as long as possible so that I have sure spot to keep my second car.12. Phone jack in kitchen has been broken ever since I moved in.-Management has not yet acknowledged problem.13.The pool is filthy, was rarely open, and has had problems greening over.-Management has not yet acknowledged problem.Rent is far too expensive to spend on a place like this, where everyone seems to have similar problems. On top of everything, the management staff is completely unfriendly and uncooperative. I have even taken my problems to the corporate office who are nearly impossible to get a hold of and assist me in my situation because they find themselves to betoo importantfor such asmall case . As soon as I told them I wanted to get out of my lease, the corporation threatened me by exclaiming that their lawyers would be after me and the remaining portion of my lease plus late charges would be sent to collections, rather than responding positively by attempting to assist me. I impatiently waiting for the five months to come where my lease will finally end, and I do not have to arrive home unhappy with daily Old Orchard Apartments problems.Please spare yourself problems and look to other places to live. I wish I would have taken this advice from many others before signing a long and dreadful contract. If you are skeptical about my review, read the other reviews and ask the current tenants.
