Recent Review:The outside is gorgeous and inviting.Don't let that fool you. There is no maintenance; management doesn't care; it takes weeks to get simple problems fixed and they are never completely fixed; gangs rumble through parking lot at night; if you live there now don't expect to get your deposit when you leave; they make up reasons to keep it.Don't stop there-contact the big wigs. They seem to care. They just need to pass that attitude to the local staff.STAY AWAY!!

Recent Review:This is a beautiful old apartment building in the middle of downtown Indy. Affordable, spacious, and with great views. It's a five minute walk from the middle of downtown, across the street from the only grocery store downtown, and across the street from the Massachusetts Ave. Arts District. It *is* downtown so it's not landscaped and there's a variety of people, but I've never had trouble. There isn't really anything more you could ask for except maybe more parking. But you're so close to everything, you don't need a car!

Recent Review:My license plate was stolen, my boyfriend's cd player was stolen out of his car, very noisey neighbors.Made several complaints but problem was never solved.Drug use and dealing was a problem within the first 6 months.Cats running around the parking lots, jumping on cars, leaving scratches. One jumped into my car leaving cat hair all over my back seats.Live here if you like the ghetto atmosphere.

Recent Review:For a small apartment,Ilove it. The building is very historic, the tenants are all very friendly. Maintenance problems are dealt with quickly. I would recommend it to any person who wants to live in the downtown area, especially inexpensively. The rent is reasonable and the location is wonderful

Recent Review:I am an Asian-American and living here has been a horrific experience. The landlord has been verbally abusive, drunk, and downright scary at times. His temper is disturbing. He screamed at my brother and his friend who helped me move in a sofa. Saying F-this and F-that. His wife is a bitch as well. Got no security deposit back. They tried to get more money from me even after I lost my job. He had a son whom I heard got killed by an African-American in the apartment and he is very racist against Asian-Americans and African-Americans. There are stories about this guy. He's used the N word and the C word as others have told me. Everyone in this apartment is very nice and they all feel the same way about this guy. White or not. Extremely nice at times and frightening at other times. You never know what you're going to get with him. I had to call the police once but they didn't bother doing anything about his drunken behavior because they don't deal with
27. Emerson Village Lakes
5140 Emerson Village Place
Indianapolis  IN, 46237
32.0
Recent Review:I lived here for three years, and can only say that this complex completely went downhill in that short amount of time.Crime, both violent and non-violent, skyrocketed.Beatings, break-ins (they are even so bold as to attempt it while you are home), vandalism, car theft, drug-dealing, you name it, Emerson Village has it.The community is surrounded by a privacy fence that at first sounds like a great idea, as it separates the complex from the surrounding housing additions.Unfortunately, it creates more problems than it solves. There is a constant stream of hoodlums from the surrounding neighborhood that hop the fence to inflict their mayhem, and the fence only serves to make certain they won't be seen while doing it.There are currently three people living in the complex that are on Indiana's violent and sexual offender registry.A rather high concentration for such a small community.Who knows how many offenders are living there that haven't even bothered to register?Management is indifferent to the crime problem, refusing to acknowledge that it even exists (get your crime statistics from the Sheriff's Department, not the management). They insist they have security patrols, but refuse to say who actually provides this service, and nobody has ever seen one.As for the apartments themselves, they are gloomy 70's style shoeboxes, with dilapidated cabinetry, thimble-sized water heaters, improperly graded parking lots (they flood every time it sprinkles), snow removal is hit-or-miss as is the power, no speed bumps (and most residents take advantage of that, despite all of the blind corners), and plenty of violent (but protected) geese. The simplest test for an apartment complex is to drive through it on a weeknight and look at the cars. Most decent, respectable people (the kind of people you would like to have as neighbors) tend to take pretty good care of their cars. The kind of people who will trash a neighborhood, will generally trash their cars first.Drive through it for yourself (but make sure you bring your gun) and you will see that Emerson Village fails miserably even on this simple test.

Recent Review:Two types of apartments to choose from :Under-income, and Market (Upgraded) -check with main office to see which you apply for.Note on Market; I wasn't able to move into these apartments because my total income was just over the income bracket, it wasn't until this past year they made it possible for me to move in; thank goodness.Ok, so the pros and cons of this place:Both have 1-2 bedrooms, 2-story buildings, plenty of parking, small complex, laundry facility in every building, all have decks, and a club house available for those who would like to use it.This place does not have a pool, but for the price, you will get over it.
29. Fox Club Apartments
4401 S Keystone Ave
Indianapolis  IN, 46227
11.0
Recent Review:At one time, due to location and apartment design, Fox Club was a nice place to live. But these days upkeep, maintenance, and security are serious problems. The current onsite management is indifferent to resident concerns about appearance and safety.Balconies are in desparate need of repair - rotting wood and peeling paint. Roofs are leaking and roads and sidewalks are crumbling.Snow removal is sporadic at best in winter and lawncare and landscaping in the complex past the office and model apartment is less than attractive. There have been many instances of onsite management trying to charge residents for routine maintenance issues. Often takes weeks for maintenance requests to be filled and then only with shoddy workmanship, resulting in multiple visits.Clubhouse facilities have very limited open hours and the office is frequently closed during stated open hours.Onsite management often seem harried and unprofessional and poorly trained in customer service skills, quick to dismiss concerns or actually blame the residents instead of trying to solve issues.Fox Club has the potential, due to location and apartment design, to be a wonderful place to live. But, unfortunately, the issues aren't likely to improve until Cypress Reality Network desides to put in place skilled, professional onsite management.Unfortunately I can't recommend this community at this time.
