| Recent Review: | | I moved into this place because cosmetically, it looks great.However, since I moved in, the air conditioner broke and there have been leaking faucets and drains everywhere. Thw worst was discovering that the apartment really didn't have any insulation or that the heaters didn't work.I had been on vacation for a month, set my thermostat to the recommend setting, and came back to a $350 electric bill. Even worse than the bill was that the apartment was freezing! A pipe had frozen. That evening, I went to bed, cranked up the thermostat to 80 and thought, however optimistically, that I would wake up to warmth. It was 50 in my apartment!As if that wasn't bad enough, the response I got from the office staff was entirely unsympathietic and uncaring. The manager suggested that I put thermostats in each of the rooms so I would know what temperature it was. (Of course the correct word would be thermometers) Instead of saying that they would work on the problem until it is solved, she had the audacity to say that it was right before the weekend, so there was no way she was going to monitor and worry about the problem.Also, if you decide to consider the property, be wary of the lease. It gives them a lot more rights than your average lease, and they, in my case, wanted me to sign the lease on the spot.They also did not want to allow me to see my apartment before I moved in, citing many plausible reasons. Insist! I am now in my apartment, and It is obvious that they have had many water flooding problems.. the ceiling is patched and repainted and you can see lots of these spot jobs.On the other hand, the interior layout is great. But, if you go for the apartment (which I don't recommend) pay the extra for the wooded view. Otherwise, you have to keep your blinds closed at all times to have any kind of privacy.The management will tell you that if you want the things I have discussed, you should buy a house. However, this is dubbed as a luxury apartment, and you pay for it, without any of the luxuries you should get. For 1100 a month, you can rent a house here. Apartments are betwen 700-850 for a two bedroom.Best of luck to you. |
