| Recent Review: | | I have to say I was a bit discouraged when we had signed the lease and THEN I checked out this website, but I have lived in Avery Park for almost a year and I think it is really great.My neighbors are all nice and considerate, I live next door to a couple with a new baby, and I wouldn't even know they had one except you can hear her sometimes from the hallway.There is never any noise (that I can hear) any other time. The pool is nice if you like kids (there are lots there all the time) and the location is conveinient if you don't mind driving everywhere.Downside is that there are NO restaurants anywhere nearby.There isn't even a McDonalds that I would consider 'closeby'.But for what you pay (<$1k for a one bedroom) you really get your money's worth.New interiors with big beautiful kitchens, washer and dryer in unit (not full size, but good for me!), balconies and they allow pets, plus swimming pool and gym.I would recomend it for sure. |

| Recent Review: | | I lived at the Blair House for 5 years, moved out before they built a row of (nice, stylis, whatever traffic on Collesvile Rt 29 traffic soud muffing) townhouses. The location is great as far as 3 minutes from Red Line Metro, the above mentuioned Giant and completelly redone strip shoping center with nice Asian restaurant, drycleaners, etc. Discovery Channel building, about 5 minutes of leisure walk from the Blair House, in the very heart of Silver Spring downtown now dominates the area. And the Film Institute Theatre, a reto-buliding, stand in place of popular film theatre 50-70 years ago. You are also about 3 minutes from the edge of Rock Creek Park, as DC city line starts juts 60 years from the Blair House. Nice for jogging, family walks, further in part horse stables, tennis courts, great greenery inside of the city. Our apartment was 3 BR, huge square footage, 3 years ago, just when remodeling of the entire 12 story highrise was completed was about $1325, utilities included. Great (also large) swimming pool with nice setting, gazeboos, etc., small but sufficient fitness room. Compared to similar apartment living on convenient Metro location (i.e. really w/in walking minutes), such as Bethesda's locations, this is a bargain. Yes, you do not have the restaurants selection, no Nieman Marcus, etc., also not exactly for famiy with kids, but for childless couples, very good to great. Now we live in Columbia, MD, up notrth on Rt 29. A planned community, with INCREDIBLE offering of facilities for sports and recreation, everything done with human scale in mind (no poles with electric/phone wires, no ugly signs, great, great place to live. 24 outdoor pools, numerous great fitness centers, year-around indoor ice ring, etc. etc., lakes with jogging etc. paths, all for $49/month of family membership). Yes, we actually rent a room for a single F profesional here. aily commute with poshy coach bus, from the streetv corner right to the National Mall, with stops in between. | Recent Review: | | Dont live here. We lived in this building for one month and then were moved to the blair house. The whole building is infested with cockroaches, and its a nightmare. What made me so mad is the fact that they knew about the problem and never told us before we had moved in. Then to top it off they let painters into our appartment before we had switched appartments, and our stuff got stolen. And most of the items were wedding gifts. |

| Recent Review: | | The renovatiosn and free ernt are a tactic to get people in there. This area is not safe. It's loud all night long even on weeknights. If you like to sleep don't move here. The cops come it gets quiet for a fe minutes then everyone starts party again. |

| Recent Review: | | THis is an awful place..DONT move in ..the place smells of something i dont know what. IT only looks good. once you are in there to live you realise the problems of cockroaches and mice! can u beleive this! and the management is not at all helpful. I live here one year and its a mess. STINKS!!!and pay additional for parking! |

| Recent Review: | | We moved here from California for just three months for my husband's work. Our apartment seemed nice enough at first. However, one of our friends moved into her apartment and it was absolutely CRAWLING with cockroaches. But that wasn't the worst. She contacted management and they cheerfully promised to send maintenance right over. Well, that was Friday afternoon and instead of coming over, they took off for a long weekend! She had to move out and stay in a hotel two nights. No one ever came to take care of the cockroaches and she had to bomb repeatedly to get rid of them. Another family moved in and had a bat--that's right, a BAT--flying around their apartment the first night. And they had three small children! They also had to rent an apartment for two nights.As for us, our garbage disposal wasn't working, so I reported it when we got here. Someone came and quickly "fixed" it, but after that I noticed that it spewed garbage all over under the sink whenever I turned it on. Also, it leaked water liberally whenever I turned it on. I reported it, but as of now, two weeks later, no one has done anything despite my repeated requests. Several of our friends moved in and found that there was no heat. One person found no heat in the apartment and no water in his shower, and the garbage disposal, dryer, dishwasher, and smoke detector weren't working.Across the hallway from our apartment is an apartment with a huge CONDEMNED sign on the door. The funny thing is, it was condemned as unfit for human habitation back in September, and this is January! The lady who lives next door to it told me that she was the one who continued complaining about it and eventually got the state to come see it. Of course, they promptly condemned it. She said she always tries to catch anyone who is looking at these apartments as a prospective renter so she can tell them to "run for their lives!" She can't wait until her lease is up in July.Someone who lived here for many years and is moving out right now told me there was an armed assault in the parking lot last year too....Well, I could say more, but I think that will suffice. Stay away from these apartments! |
