| Recent Review: | | We were on short notice to move, so we rented this duplex from RED properties.The renters are based out of Westminster, MD but the property was in Hanover, PA.The property seemed ok at first, it was clean and had been remodeled about a year before.The landlord told us that there had been a fire in the house because it was old (built in like 1900) and it had been remodeled after that.Well, after we moved in, we found out that the fire was caused because the previous tenants were growing marijuana in the basement and a heat lamp they were using caught on fire!So you can imagine that started the problems.Well, shortly after we moved in, we realized the place was remodeled as cheaply as possible because everything started to fall apart.The sinks in the kitchen and bathroom were hardly on.The stove was so old I was afraid it was going to blow up every time we used it.The carpet kept fraying and if you tried to vacuum it, pieces of it would get caught in the vacuum!The walls were so cheaply made that if you accidentally bumped into them, you dented them.Then to top it all off, you could hear every single movement and noise on the other side of the house.Also, the neighbors next door are complete white trash and they would yell obscenities to one another at all hours of the night.Parking was another nightmare!When I asked the landlord about parking, she told me it was on street but there was plenty of it because everyone in the neighborhood parked in their garages.Well of course that turned out to be another one of her lies, because we never found a place to park, and we were afraid to go anywhere on the weekends for fear our parking space would be gone.Finally, after 6 months of living in pure hell, we moved out.Then to top it all off, after I spent an entire Saturday cleaning and scrubbing the apartment to make sure it was in impeccable condition, the landlandy had the gall to say that she had to spend time vacuuming and cleaning the kitchen and she took money off of our security deposit!The landlady's name is Christina Dougherty, so if you ever see her name, DO NOT RENT FROM HER!!!!She told us nothing but lies the entire time we were there and even after we moved out, she still continued to screw us over!I will do everything in my power to make sure that this place never gets rented again!I hope these people go out of business!Good luck to whover is renting in the area.If you have any questions about good places to live in Hanover or Westminster, feel free to e-mail me at tarab21@hotmail.com |
