| I visited Middlebrook Apartments when I was looking for a 2 or 3 bedroom apartment in Westminster, MD.When I walked into the rental office I questioned whether I had walked into someone's apartment. There was a lady relaxing on the couch reading a newspaper and two ladies at a table in what would be the dining area. One of the ladies looked up and in a huff asked if she could help me.I told her I was there to see about an apartment. She led me back to her office and asked what size apartment I was looking for. When I told her that I wanted a 2 or 3 bedroom apartment, she asked if I had any children.I told her I did and she said that she wouldn't be comfortable putting me in one of her apartments as she'd be afraid that my children would bother her elderly tenants!I was shocked! She went on to say that she could put me in a 2 bedroom townhome.I explained that I have three children and was really hoping to get a 3 bedroom apartment. She reiterated that she didn't want to put me in an apartment and that the townhome would be fine.I told her I didn't prefer steps due to knee problems and she continued to push the townhome on me. She said that I could put my 15 year old in the basement of the townhome.I asked if it was a walkout and she said no.She explained that the basement wasn't a finished basement either.Uh...hello!I am not putting my 15 year old in an unfinished basement in which he would have no way to escape in the event of a fire!!! I cannot believe the unprofessional attitude that this person gave me.I would not recommend this community to ANYONE!!!If they treat prospective residents this way what do they do when they have a resident who has a problem? There are much nicer apartments where the staff are friendly and they actually tell you all of the options and let you decide which apartment YOU want. |
