Recent Review: Cons:The place was not ready on the first date scheduled to move in.I had to cancle my u-haul I was told it was going to be a half week more before I could move in.Waited until wed didnt here anything.Called and I was told it wouldnt be ready for another week and a half.So I scheduled another u-hual for that up and comming saturday.I didnt receive a call until the friday before moving that the place was still not ready.After explaining that I had to be there by saturday and to work on monday I was informed by BEI Rentals that they had a temporary place to stay until are place was ready.We where told it would only be a few days.At this point I already lost a week of work(took off a week to organize and help my significant other find a job).So after packing everything into the U-Haul we headed down the road to our temp housing.After driving for 2 hours we finally arrived to find out that we where locked out!I called BEI right away and there was no answer whatso ever.Luckly my buddy that was helping us move was a decent lock picker and he got us in.We had to put all of our stuff into the garage so it could be easily moved into the new place in a few days.BEI Rentals didnt even stop by until tuesday to see if we made it on time.We only recieved on key for the temporary place making it difficult for us to organize locking up the place when we where not there.But no big deal right?Well Wednesday came and passed with no word on our place.So I called BEI Rentals on Thursday.I was then told that our place would not be ready due to the rainy days until saturday.Still no word on Saturday.This kept going on for almost a full three weeks.While we had one bench on the floor and a matress lied next to it to sleep.Ohh hehe I forgot the best parts of our temp home the gyser in the basement and the fridge gone bad.During are first few days there the main drain plugged.I called BEI Rentals and notified them of the problem.They never showed up or even looked at it.So we where stuck for two days with our fecis and urin filling up the basement floor.Not to mention if poored all over my haltec EFI fuel injection system for my race car.I called BEI Rental again to see what the hell the deal was.He told me he would have someone over in the morning to fix it and to use the duplex next to ours while they where fixing our drain.That next morning we went over to the other duplex to shower and clean up for work.Well that was interesting on its own.We go in and the heat is shut off.Damn thats a cold shower in the morning!This is in the fall in Upper Michigan by the way and the temp is ussually below freezing.Ok I make a dash for the bathroom and close the door, flip the lights on.Ahh now what the hell!There was no electricity and at 7:00am it is completely dark out.So i open the door that faces directly at the neighbors and I try to do the best too take a shower.I called BEI Rentals once again to ask about the power.He said he would have it on the next day.That never did happen!Now to the fridge.When we moved we took our food with us.Plugged in the fridge and put it all in there.Just to find out that the fridge turned on but there was no freon.We threw out at least $50.00 worth of food.Only about two days before we got to actually move too our real apartment did they come and fix the main water drain.They never did clean up all of the nasty stuff on the basement floor.Ok we are in our new apartment finnally. BEI Rentals even moved our stuff. Great Im happy with the place so far. We are told by BEI Rentals that the bathrooms still need to be redone and that they will be there in a couple of days. We made sure that the bathroom was clean of our stuff so they could work.Yet again they never showed up. We ran into town the first day there and picked up about a hundred dollars in groceries.Threw them in the fridge and made sure it was on and plugged in.Ohh wait the pluggin doesnt work by the fridge.Ok no problem lets run a extension cord from another outlet. That worked or so I thought.During the night the safty switch popped.There goes a bunch of groceries once again since I didnt check it until that next evening after work.Called BEI Rentals and wow they had it fixed.He told us someone would be there to finish the bathrooms yet and to give us some more keys for the new place.The next day three days after we finally get all of our keys. That night I started moving my stuff into the basement and unpacking my stuff after I was done with work.I went into the basement and great the water heater is leaking a small river into the basement.Ok something to tell them about to fix before I switch all of the utils into my name. I called the next day to tell BEI Rentals about it.That night I headed upstairs to unpack all of my computer stuff. Im a network engineer so I have a crap load of it.I picked on of the bedrooms to turn into my work area.I hooked up my computer and poof white smoke poors out of it.So I tried just hooking in my alarm clock.The entire house is without power now.What the hell. I ran to the circuit breaker and all is ok.After a couple of min the lights came back by themselfs.Ok now there is a huge electrical problem.Ok so I call BEI rentals the day after and tell them that the electricity is messed up in the bedroom and that the water was still leaking in the basement from the water heater.Well to my amazement the electrician showed up the next day to fix the electrical problem.That night I plugged my other computer in and poof again.This time it took out my power supply and motherboard and knocked the power out.Now Im getting pissed. Being fed up I gave up for a week of calling and said screw it and hooked my computer up in the living room.No one has come to fix the water leak still.Another week went by still no one fixed the water leak.I got off my butt and went upstairs.Started to rip the outlets apart just to find out that the wires where shorting in one of the outlets.Easy fix!I dont know how they missed that one.Moved my computer room back upstairs.Well I guess at that point you can call it a office.Because my main system are out of commision.And im too broke at this point from all of the moving expensis and mishaps to fix them.Well a few week later BEI Rentals owner stopped by and yelled at me for not switching the utilities into my name.I explained the problems and that I had fixed the electrical and not his workers.I said the water heater was still leaking.He told me he would have someone look at it again.I then switched the electricity in my name because that is all good now.Well it has been a long time now and the water heater was fixed about a week ago after a heated arguement when he received the utility bill and I hadnt switched the water or heat into my name.He was even nice enough to come into my work and yell at me.Telling me that i owe him over $700 in utilities.I told him that I was not going to pay it and that it wasnt my fault.Well today he stopped by my girlfriends work and yelled at her in fron of her coworkers and handed her a notice to quit.Well too bad we already found another place and we will finally be done with this nightmare.Please be very cautious when renting from this company.Not to mention the KI Sawyer area tends to bring a lot of lower income familys.There is a high amount of crime.They dont plow very quickly in the winter.If you have to commute to marquette it makes a hell of a drive each day.Ohh I forgot to add that on your lease it says your driveway will be plowed in 24hours of a big storm but its more like 48-72hours.Causing a hell of a work out and missing some days of work.Pros: Well it looked good on a first appearence and the property has great potential.Huge place for a low price. Nice layout.
