Recent Review:I'm moving out because I bought a house, but I've lived here for quite a while and although the place could use a little updating, I've been quite happy with Christopherson Properties. This building was built in the 60s and has some nice older, cozy charm. My favorite part has got to be the screened-in porches. They're awesome, and I don't think I've seen them in any apartments for quite a while.I've also been pretty happy with the maintenence staff. They're on site many days during the week, either maintaining the property, fixing things or whatever. A month ago the upstairs neighbor's shower leaked a bunch of water into our bathroom. We placed a call (the leak had stopped) and someone was in the next morning to fix things. Our ceiling was patched and repainted not long after.Overall, I've been pretty happy with the place. The location is perfect, the rent is fair and problems don't go neglected. I'd recommend checking the place out. I know they have a few openings.

Recent Review:Here's there's way to much traffic in and out of here, even though its a security building. People that come and visit other people use the parking lot when they should be parking in the street. People like to party alot outside in the parking lot. A few of the nieghbors are very loud, and nobody seems to do anything about it. I think the best way to solve this problem for this complex would be to hire some security, or something.

Recent Review:Great place and offordable but apparently some costs were reduced by minimizing sound-proofing.I recommend this apt b/c it is one of the few places where price refelects quality.

Recent Review:We found mold in every single window and in the corner of the bedroom not near any windows. I complained in writing, and they dropped off a bottle of 409, and told us to spray that on there. This was not unusual for repairs. I've had to have them repair the bathroom faucet a couple of times because the cold water kept leaking. I finally just turned the cold water off, which makes the sink much less useful. For weeks I told them in person and in writing about the fact that I thought there was something in my toilet causing it to clog up often, and it never really flushed right. I had to dump a bucket of water down there just to get it to flush. Maintenance men always just came by, plunged, and left. When I finally convinced them the toilet needed to be replaced, it was replaced with an old toilet that had a cracked seat and was very loose on the bathroom floor. It, too, does not flush properly. I still have to dump a bucket of water to make it flush all the way.For three years I had no heat in the bedroom. I told them of this problem the first winter, and each winter after that. I just bought a space heater finally. It wasn't fixed until a couple of weeks ago when one of the maint. people stopped by and banged on it with a big wrench. Now it works. The hardwood floors are in awful shape, and were when I moved in. Just walking on them makes the seal come off and stick to your feet. They did not reseal them before I moved in.The kitchen floor under the fridge (and between the fridge and the counter) has had missing tiles/parts of tiles since I moved in.The kitchen is tiny, and there really is no place to put a dining room table. There is sufficient parking, except in the summer when the park across the street is active and people park in our lot. It's across from the police station so I've never noticed any crime, but there is absolutely no security. Lighting is mostly okay. The manager never returns calls, you just have to try and run in to him in the office. You can hear conversations and music from any apartment whenyou're in the common area. It's the type of place that trows One More Layer of paint on the entire place between tennants, so there is a thick layer of paint on everything.Bad on me for moving in there, but three years ago the market was TIGHT and this was the only place we could find.
6. Louisiana Oaks
7201 Walker Stree
St. Louis Park  MN, 55426

Recent Review:Customer SATISFACTION IS NOT a priority at Louisiana Oaks--fill vacancies at any cost (i.e. lower the rent, dogs allowed on all floors and NO onsite security after hours).Extremelly high turnover in staff and the rules change with each new group. They are extremely inexperienced, unknowledgeable, lack professionalism and DO NOT FOLLOW-UP on the rules--threats only. The patios are used for storage (i.e. BBQs (fire hazard), coolers, boxes, camping gear, clothes drying on racks, etc)Staff is just as lacking as the residents--staff needs to get out of the office and take a look at what the prospective resident see shen they drive by.The garage is exactly the same way as the patios (i.e. bumpers, tires, bed frames, car seats, strollers, bikes, boxes filles with junk, etc.)Huge parking problems--this includes the residents commercial trucks taking up spaces (diesel runs 1/2 hour with the fumes coming in my window).Because the clientele has changed drastically-NOT FOR THE BETTER--I did not renew. This shows their inexperience in interviewing prospective residents--or do they even care who they lease to--just fill empties ($$$$$$).This means stndards were lowered and it really shows. This building is only 3-years old and has many problems. This is attributed to the SHODDY WORKMANSHIP and the CHEAP FIXTURES and APPLIANCES.At the rate Louisiana Oaks is going it will be a dump in a couple more years. On a positive note, the floor plans are very nice. When a service work order is put in Maintenance is at your door immediately to fix the problem. It's to bad the staff doesn't take the hint and do the same thing. In conclution, don't apply at the Louisiana Oaks the rent is to high for what you'll be getting yourself into for a year.
7. Park Towers
4800 Highway 7

Recent Review:Horribly slow maintenance, if it happened at all esp with the washers and dryers. The office staff seemed to be borderline retarded and could not understand or complete simple requests. The main selling point is its quietness and concrete walls. However, the paperthin floors and ceilings make up for the thick walls and the lightening rod doesn't help much either. The complex is full of screaming children who are not supervised and run wild.Drunks break beer bottles all over the grounds. The elevators were out for a month and there was no reimbursement, no hurry on the fix despite the laundry being on the top floor. The noise from highway 7 is constant. The rent is low compared to other places, but its not low enough to put up with what you have to deal with here.
8. Tamarind Apartments
2300 Ridge Drive
St. Louis Park  MN, 55416

Recent Review:The landlords here are crooked - I signed 2 six month leases and they wrote the incorrect dates on them, so I am stuck here for 13 months instead. They will not budge on letting me out in 12 months. I'm afraid that they will do this to other people as well.I wouldn't recommend Tamarind to my worst enemy.
9. Walden Woods

Recent Review:We lived here for a little over a year and are sad to leave. We're looking for a bigger place with a washer and dryer. Residents are quiet and friendly. The building is well maintained and the staff is helpful. The maintence man is great. The location can be beat. There are walking/biking trails and tennis courts very nearby. No problems with parking, underground and outdoor. The kitchens could be a little larger, and the air conditioners improved (wall units). Overall, a great place to live.

Recent Review:Alot of people who live in these complexes have been living there for quite some time. When I went to see my apt., I was promised a first floor walk out. (really cute). Once I put in the app. and the deposit for it..suddenly that apt was not available and I ended up in a much uglier 2nd floor that had a bird's nest in the bedroom cuz that's how long it had been vacant. My year there was a nightmare! Mean neighbors, orange lights glaring in my bedroom at night, and waking up to the sound of crows every morning.(Also stove blew up at me.)
