| Recent Review: | | This place is the worst!I have paid rent on time here for 6 yrs and they won't paint my apt without a hassle to me.This is a high crime area and my friends don't feel domfortable parking their cars here so I have to go to their places if I want to see them. There sre brown water stains and peeling paint on the ceiling in the bathroom which I have told them about at least a dozen times but they still haven't repaired it. |

| Recent Review: | | This one of the best places to live in Kansas City if you are a young business professional.Fifteen minutes from Blue Springs or Overland Park, the River Market has great freeway access and central location. My loft is a big hit with all my friends and offers a good view of downtown. The apartment staff if pretty good just make sure you get your rent in on time.Great place to live, good community. |

| Recent Review: | | When I saw the the floor plan and the model apartment, I was in love. I was so ready to move in, but I should have known something wasn't right when they gave us keys to an apartment we hadn't even seen yet. My boyfriend said it was no big deal...until we saw our apartment. When we moved in that faithful night, it was 30 degrees in our apartment with no hint of heat. We froze half the night! The next day--after defrosting--we checked the apartment and saw that it was BARELY like the model and what we saw on the floor plan. The bathroom only had one sink instead of two like the floor plan said; management called it a typo--a typo that hasn't been fixed in months. Just lying! We had (actually, we have)mold/mildew in the hall closet that still hasn't been cleaned yet. The leak in the roof is still causing water streaks on my walls, and is only helping the mold grow. The stove is so 1930's; nothing like the updated "grill" in the model apartment. Other than that, the apartment is o.k. Notice I said apartment and not apartment building! [Breath] After living there for barely a month our neighbors stole our car and we when we reported it, no one from management talked to them; the police didn't even care (major hint for not moving here!!!). When we found the car weeks later, it was shot up. The neighbors were finally evicted after the cops made numerous visits for drugs. When they finally got kicked out, the neighbor down stairs started beating his wife, a dog got in the building and was pooping everywhere, and when I went to check mail, another neighbor was walking out the door carrying a gun! I mean, what the hell!!! A few weeks after that, someone broke in the mailboxes in every building and some idiot started breaking in through the patio doors. As people start moving out, the apartment building get nastier and the carpet gets more...brown or black...your pick. I can't wait until my lease is up but until then, I just hope the light on the back of the building gets fixed, some "landscaping" gets done, my light bill goes down when maintence finally makes my air BLOW to cool the apartment and not just the ceiling, and I can finally find that damn clothes care center! |

| Recent Review: | | It definitely needs a little renovation, amoungst other things. The property itself is low quality but not ghetto like East of Troost. It smells funny, as there are mostly Asians living in the complex who cook potent-smeliing food. I you need something done, do it yourself. |

| Recent Review: | | Some of my experiences:1- Ugliest building I have ever seen on the inside and outside.Depressing.2- Building physically worn out. Many times they had to shut off the water supply for maintenance and repair of pipe problems. Water and sewer main pipes falling apart.3- Windows constantly fell off building and crashed below on windy days. Miracle that no one was killed.4- Cockroaches constantly invaded. Could not stop them. (Oh by the way, I found a cockroach in my fried rice from the Chinese restaurant in the next building. Please don't eat there. I am still angry about that. Myopic cook?5- Black sludge and feces from sewer backed up in kitchen sink. Yellow poison gas also came out. Sulfur gas? I Vomited from smell and had to spend a week in an airport hotel.6- Feces often came out of the shower drain after flushing toilet. Could not be fixed. Who's feces? Neighbors? Repeated attempts to fix plumbing with no results. Had to stand on a plastic crate during showers as I would not dare touch my feet to the tub.7- Every month some car window smashed. Usually in underground parking. Small pile of glass left next to car in the morning. Window on my car smashed two times in a row. Incidents were one month apart. Did not report to police.8- Car steering column destroyed in failed robbery attempt in outside parking lot. It happened in plain view of the apartments!!! 3rd vandalism to car. The thieves were so stupid they could not steal the car.9- Shooting incident in one tower when I was there. It was not done by a student of UMKC. This should be student housing. If you are not a UMKC student or faculty then you should be taken out and shot, or gassed with sulfur gas with all the cockroaches. When I heard that UMKC plans to demolish the building in 2006, I cried with joy. Please UMKC do it sooner. The building is worn out. Waterlines broke and flooded the street several times the year I was there. If you don't have a car, get one and get some other place to live. I found a much better place for the same price elsewhere. After 2006 they should be building some new apartment buildings and Twin Oaks will be just a distant nightmare.A building that soils literally and figuratively the reputation of the university. My impressions of UMKC were positive, however this particular housing was the negative part of my experience. I plan to be there to watch the building come down. I will never forget it. |

| Recent Review: | | Don't Get An Apartment Here!!!!I have been without heat since I moved in in August and it's February. These people are freezing me out!!The only way I can get out of my lease is to pay 20% of what I have left on my lease which is $900.It will be the biggest mistake you've ever mad moving to Vintage Park AKA Presidents Gardens. It's not worth paying cheaper rent.People get killed over here, music plays 24/7, the pilot on my stove is constantly out...It's Ridiculous to say the most!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
