Recent Review: My first apartment happened to be The Willows at Barrington. It was the best and the worst experience of my life. We moved in on a hot summer day and all we had was a bed and a couch (well, actually a love seat but it was a couch to us:)). For the first year and a half it was the best apartment of our lives not mentionning a couple disfunctions and the best neighbors (who were young ppl w/nothing to lose, just like us) we had ever had. We made the best friends ever and had some great times. Then about a year and a half later the roof collapsed over our heads. One winter morning some firemen woke us us with a loud bang on our door telling us we had 5 minutes to evacuate the apartment because the roof was caving in under the snow (which the maintenance didn't clean off the roof during a winter storm).We waited outside for a couple hours untill we were given 10 minutes to go in and get out most prized posessions and placed us in a hotel room for 2 weeks. Then they gave us another apartment. After about two months living in the 'new' apartment we started hearing scratching noises in a couple apartment corners at about 5am. At first banging on the spot helped a lot but after a while whatever it was just ket on making noise and kept us up for almost 2 more months. Then we went to the office for help. It turned out to be a rodent problem in the attic. The 'tried' to fix it but nothing worked. After about 8 total months of the gnawing and scatching and stomping of a huge rodent family above our heads we were so sleep deprived we had a hard time performing our duties at work from the lack of sleep. No matter how much we begged the people that worked there nothing got done about the problem, not mentionning the fact that the managment changed about 3 times while we lived there. ( Not very proffessional at all) except for one of the women that worked there the whole time we were there (about 3 yrs). After fighting with the office forwhile and threatning not to pay the rent they fixed the problem ( we actually had to stop paying for a couple months for this to happen). To say the least it was a hellish year with a lot of sleep deprevation and almost losing our jobs over a couple of rodents the managment couldn't get rid of.We have been happy ever since we moved out and we have learned a lot from living at the willows - SHOP AROUND BEFORE YOU PICK A PLACE T LIVE!
