| Recent Review: | | I would never recommand anyone to rent this place. Too old and dirty area in the building and there are so many pest control problem too. Also, Scurity problem too. Maintain people is slow and bad move out service.They will deduct most of your deposit . |

| Recent Review: | | We have lived here for 3 years and have hated it ever since..You get what you pay for.We have had several problems with maintanance not responding to anything we call in for.I still have a half fixed ceiling from Christmas Eve when our apartment flooded from the pipes being messed up and now its June and not fixed.The office management is totally incompetant and stupid to be nice.The noise is horrible and cars are always bumping their crappy loud music late at night not to mention all the drugs.Fireworks are also shot off almost everynight in the courtyard as if they are celebrating for noithing !The only good thing and the only reason we have stayed here so long is that my kids can go to great schools since Colonial Square is located in the middle of North Edison which is pretty well-established.This complex is turning into the ghetto and is unsafe especially if you have kids.We are moving in August and cant wait to be rid of this nonsense.Oh and if you come here stay away from Tony ..everyone knows him and his wife and they are LOUD RUDE and a HUGE annoyance with their domestic desputes ! |

| Recent Review: | | I lived here for app. 7 monts and i had 3 times water problem. My wife could not even take bath till evening. Nobody informs about any problem. It sucks..........They fine if you don't follow their stupid rules, they provide in paper when you signed lease.Make sure your are not going in .. .. .. .. shit place. |

| Recent Review: | | Clean and nice apartments, even though slightly old, are generally very well maintained.The seasonal swimming pool is clean and well maintained. You pay about $100 per year per family.Management is responsive for minor repairs, as experienced with problem with washing machine in the unit. Was replaced the next day with a new one.If you break the lease be prepared to pay at least 3 to 4 months rent + loss of deposit as these apartments sometimes does not get filled, ait appears as if the management is more interested in filling in other apartment complexes as these apartments are condominiums and management company just gets the commission.Also, be prepared to get notices from the condominium management in case if you put your own flower beds in the patio or forget toys/bicycles in the patio. Individual Christmas decorations or dish networks are not allowed. The condominium management (different than leasing management) has installed Satellite TV dishes on top of each building for use if you choose that over cablevision.There were a few robberies; mostly the items left at patio on ground floors were stolen in the afternoon on weekdays.No problem with parking, parking spaces are not allotted, so you can have more than one cars, or parking for guests. You need to have parking sticker for your car; a small fee is charged for that per year.A major New Jersey highway run close to the apartment complex, so if you are sensitive about the noise level, please pay close attention to it when you take tour before renting the apartment.One important thing to note is that this complex is located on Superfund site. Please be aware of this,before you go for signing your lease, because you will not be necessarily informed of this fact till you are about to sign the contract. My leasing agent did not even mention it at the signing; she just presented it as another form in the leasing package to sign.Overall good place to rent. |

| Recent Review: | | Unprofessional, unresponsive and REALLY obnoxious management.Of course you will never see that if you don?t have to deal with them. Unfortunately with the problems in this complex this will be case ONLY if you never rent here!!The super(s) will on occasion try but most of the time will tell you that there?s no problem, or that nobody else is complaining (lies)!!Frequent HEATING problems: No thermostat in the apartments and they turn down the heat in the boiler room in the winter. I called and complained to the Edison township Health department.HOT WATER problems: Recently the water would turn cold in the middle of taking a shower especially in the morning just before going to work.. After constant complaints from all tenants in the affected buildings it took more than 2 months to fix, while they would keep telling everybody that there was no problem!!!SCREWS for locking some of the windows! (OLD buildings, out of whack windows, they never fixed as they originally promised)LEAKING apartments: Mine at least, in 3 separate occasions. When they finally came to fix the problem and paint the horribly looking area they left paint spots on brand new furniture.NOISE: They don?t require 2nd floor residents to have carpet in the whole apartment so be prepared for A LOT OF NOISE if you live on the 1st floor.VANDALISM in the complex: The laundry room in building #2 has been closed since the winter because of vandalism. Cars (mine included, brand new) have been scratched (filed a police report).NOISY area. Constant East Corridor Rail lines fixes a few feet from the complex (not to mention the danger of derailing trains, accidents etc..), so there?s constant LOUD train horn blowing till very late at night (12-1 am).A lot of turnover of residents.I have been here for five years, way too long (All other apts in my building had at least one turnover, most had 2!!). Came for the price and location, can?t wait to get out. Not worth it by a long shot.Look for this if you are really desperate.And you have been warned? |

| Recent Review: | | I lived here from 2001-2002 and everything was in very new, good condition.About 2 times we needed repairs (the dryer and the dishwasher) and the staff was very prompt and did a good job.We had 2 patios and a reserved parking spot.I don't know of there being any crime there.It's in a pretty good location, not right off a main road and also not in the middle of nowhere.We stayed a little over a year and so we left during the second lease.The lady in the rental office said we would get our whole security deposit back since we stayed over a year but we ended up only getting part of it.Still, we would try to live there again except we have too many kids for even their largest apartment.They have a swimming pool you can pay a reasonable amount to use for the summer. Also there are playgrounds and a sidewalk either at Oxford arms or at one of the other complexes immediately adjacent. |
