| Recent Review: | | I rented a 2 bedroom 2 1/2 bathroom townhouse apartment. I asked for a quiet apartment. I work from home so peace and quiet was essential. The rental office placed me next to a divorced father with 2 teenage sons, that have no extra curricular activities, except smoking drugs. These are the noisest people I have ever lived next to in the 13 years of renting apartments. I complained to the management and they told me that I need to get out more. They did very little to alleviate the situation. The walls are very thin, but the rent is high. The superintendent has a very nasty attitude towards minorities, which is surprising since he is hispanic himself. The neighbors are very snobish, cold and disrespectful. I did expect some of this, but all of these circumstances it was a bit more than I could handle. The apartment itself is nice, but cheap materials were used during construction and it shows. Walls cracking, carpet fraying, toliet leaks and hardware easily breaking. Fit and finish was not done well when I moved in. The apartment was brand new. Parking is inadequate. Most tenants use garages for storage and have more than one vehicle. This causes a problem if you come home late at night. Visitors do not respect tenants parking rights. Management has no real rules about tenants getting parking spaces over visitors. Garbage receptacles are too small, causes overflowing on weekends from tenants dumping individual garbage cans and boxes into main dumpster. They had bigger dumpsters when I moved in, but changed to a different cartage service that has smaller dumpsters. The grounds are well kept. There is a playground area, but children do play in driveways and tight cul-de-sac areas which is very dangerous. Front porches and common areas are used by smoking tenants and smoke comes into sliding doors in apartments very easily. Loud talking on porches and common areas is disturbing. Watch out where your living room area is located. If it is near someones kitchen beware. Slamming of washers, dryers, microwaves etc... will drive you crazy. Especially, if you have insensitive, non caring neighbors such as I did. This is deemed a luxury apartment complex. Probably mostly coporate tenants. Lot's of turnover from what I can see. Overall, very pricy and not a great place to live. |
