Recent Review:Observations after living here for nearly 6 years...1.Parking is horrible! There is no where near enough space for the amount of apartments/cars.To remedy this problem I chose to rent a garage. The garages are expensive for the area (I paid $85/month) but well worth it, especially when it snows.2.They offer month-to month leases which is great.30 days notice and you're on your way.3.The rental office/maintenance is handled by a married couple (be aware, English is not their first language). The office is only open from 9am to 12noon Monday through Friday so it can be very difficult to reach someone. They do not provide an emergency number for repairs.Repairs that they do not consider emergency (like being scalded in the shower every time a neighbor flushes their toilet) can take up to a month.4.Rent is cheap and the apartments are clean (very old, but clean).5.Laundry facilities are poor, you're best bet is to visit one of the local laundramats.Highland Park has two decent ones.6.I felt very safe in this town.I lived in a first floor apartment and thought nothing of sleeping with my windows open.I was however worried about my mail. The mail boxes provided are tiny so the postman would often leave magazines and catalogs in the central entry.I cancelled my magazines after they had been stolen many months in a row.7.Noise is dependent on your neighbors.I never heard anyone until the last six months and then it felt like I had a heard of elephants living above me.Management was not helpful in resolving the issue.

Recent Review:I have lived in this apartment complex for over 1.5 years now. I recently moved from a 2 bedroom apartment to a 1 bedroom apartment here. These are nice apartments, but i have had some trouble in my new 1 bedroom apartment of late. A lot of things like: the shower curtain rod, the washer, the knobs on some of the doors, one of the cooking units have broken down in my apartment within the first 15 days. They have a nice storage closet in the balcony, but it was extremely dirty when we moved in. It's been 4 days since we complained, and no one has still come to clean it.Pros:1) Nice, clean carpeted apartments2) Ample parking3) Washer/Dryer in-house4) Safe community5) Close to Rutgers busstop - very easy to get to the New Brunswick train station or some other places around Rutgers.6) Peaceful and quiet.Cons:1) Management slow to respond to repair requests sometimes2) Not all things might be functional when you move in. Better make sure you inspect the apartment thoroughly before moving in.3) Heating is based on electricity and not gas. Also, the washer/dryer consume a lot of electricity. You have to be very careful, otherwise your PSEG bill can go quite high ( a few hundred $ a month!)4) A bit on the expensive side (considering the fact that they don't pay for gas/elec.)5) The heating/AC units are noisy and old.
