Recent Review:These people are crooks! They never fixed my window or my front door locks. My electricity went off repeatedly with no explanation.Worst of all, when I moved out and didn't want to take some of my furniture, I asked the people in the rental office if they wanted it.I made sure to ask if I could just leave it in the apartment and they said yes. Then, they turned around and charged me a $300 fee for leaving things in the apartment AFTER they took the furniture!DO NOT RENT WITH THESE PEOPLE.

Recent Review:University Village was my worst living experience.

I lived there for a year and I had bugs that never went away. I called the maintenece people who were reliable, but did not solve the problem. They came to my apt. at least once every couple weeks to put the same stuff down that never worked. When I talked to the head of the maintenece dept. she said they were getting a new exterminator thatnever came. There also was a flood in my apartment. I came home to a bedroom full of standing water because of a water leak from the people that lived on top of me. The things that were damaged they did not replace. One good thing is they did put me in a hotel while they cleaned up.There is no security there!!!! Dont let them tell you otherwise! There was a peeping tom, my bedroom window got a rock thrown through it, my car got keyed, and me and many other people in the parking lot had our car windows busted out.One good thing is the maintence guy Scott he was always nice and never failed to help when there was a problem (which there were many of). Also, the free bus, and there was always parking. But I dont know how safe your car will be once you park it.I would not dare recommend University Village to anyone unless I hated them with a passion!

Recent Review:Wow, I've never had a problem with Waterford Pointe. I moved out a month and a half ago, and got my full deposit back, less $10 because I didn't clean my oven (which I knew I'd be charged for). I read the lease agreement fully and understood it's contents, maybe that's why I got all my money back. People who try to blame other people for their mistakes really baffle me. Waterford Pointe was quiet, peaceful and well kept. The staff was always curteous to me and my boyfriend, and maintenance was always on top of things! I've recommended this community to several friends, and they all enjoy it as well!

Recent Review:If you are looking for a safe environment, friendly management staff and a quick response to your maintence problems...this is Not the place for you.I lived here for 3 years and the current manager has no clue as to how to keep her current residents happy and safe. With a double homicide happing just a few weeks ago many tenants cant wait to move out including me.Before looking for somewhere to live talk to the people who live there and let them tell you about the apartments.
66. Whitehall Park Apartments
4669 E Main St
Columbus  OH, 43213

Recent Review:I wish that I could write a glowing review of this apartment complex but unfortunately most of the apartment complexes in this area are on the decline and out of all of them Whitehall Park is among the absolute worst.Whitehall Park is owned by one of the largest apartment management companies in Columbus and you would think that this company would either 1.) Hire effective and competent staff to manage the complex and screen for law abiding, civil, and decent tenants 2.)Update and/or at the very least effectively maintain the complex or 3.)Sell it to avoid any association w/such a dump! There have been incidents of shootings in this complex and every drug offense from cooking crack to selling it! Criminals love Whitehall Park! When I moved into my apartment I would often smell this very offensive odor upon entering my building. When a girlfriend whose boyfriend was a drug dealer told me that the smell was the smell of somone cooking crack! So imagine how pleasant that discovery was after just arriving home with a newborn baby and signing a two year lease. Also imagine leaving for work in the morning to see several of your neighbors returning from the liquor store and headed home with a bottle in a bag at 9:00 in the morning. Besides the crime, they can't seem to keep the rental office staffed with decent and professional people. The current property manager's idea of dealing with the criminal activity in this area is not to deal with it.While his predecessor, not only invited criminals to live in the complex but was not herself a law abiding, ethical individual. If you have seen Whitehall Park in the apartment guides all nice and glossy and shiny, DON'T BE FOOLED! Don't even be fooled by visiting to have them show you a decent looking apartment but not tell you about your neighbors in the complex and in the area.Come to Whitehall Park as a last resort but whatever you do don't allow yourself to be schmoozed into believing that all is well here.My advice keep: if you were looking at Whitehall Park as your next home, keep on looking!I am paying off my lease as soon as possible so that I can get out of here!Trust me, I wouldn't let my dog live here.

Recent Review:We viewed a newly renovated apartment, that we agreed to rent. The rent is very reasonably priced, the townhouse is very big and nicely laid out. After a few days, we noticed roaches and earwiggs. They were coming in from outside because the entrances aren't properly sealed. They were coming in from the basement, and they were already in the walls.Complaints were filed, but roaches are impossible to get rid of overnight. The problem has yet to be resolved. After living here for a month, our car was stolen out of the parking lot.Our other car was keyed while parked in the parking lot.The neighborhood is very loud, people blaring their music all day, honking horns early in the morning. It's also very dirty. The dumpsters are always overflowing, and frequently visited by rats and huge roaches, and everything else under the sun. There is always trash all over the ground. They keep everything mowed and trimmed, and they pick up nicely for the partyou see when you visit the leasing office, but the rest is not kept up at all. There are bottles, trash bags, food, etc. on the grounds. We paid our pet fee, but the ground is so littered and the streets so busy, it's not safe to walk a pet around the grounds. We are forced to walk her in other neighborhoods, and at the park.I highly recommend that you look elsewhere, and never rent from Wingate Villages.
69. Woodcroft Apartments
3266 Creek Run Dr.
Columbus  OH, 43231

Recent Review:These apartments are very nice but cars are broken into at least once every month including being vandilized, tenants are asked to put salt on the breezeways as they leave, trash is picked up maybe once every two weeks, neighbors are very loud and inconsiderate of those of us who have children that go to sleep at night, and parking is terrible we live on the front of the complex and we have to park in the back and walk around to our apartment with our two children. Management is okay they definitly handle maintence problems in a timely manner, and are very friendly with the tenants. My upstairs neighbor thinks that 7pm is to late to watch televison with your child so she gets very upset, but midnite is fine to play loud music and wake up my children.

Recent Review:The townhomes are about $550/month, the price can't be beat.Great location, right at corner of Broadmeadows & High St., 1 mile north of Morse Rd.There is plenty of parking; onsite laundry. No pets, but some tenants do sneak cats in (unless they've started allowing cats since I moved in).I have lived here longer than anyone else as of this writing (6yrs.); turnover is fairly high.In 6yrs. I have not had any problem with crime though there is white trash housing next door and welfare housing down the street (have probably seen maybe 2 or 3 cars in my lot broken into in that time but not much more). Most of the townhome tenants are young singles or young couples; some elderly (rare) and some foreigners.Noise level is quiet enough to be acceptable; loud enough to not feel like a bloody nursing home.Other than the occasional party, neighbors rarely make alot of noise on a daily basis (some with children will have their kids racing up & down the stairs all day, but kids are like that).Because of high turnover, one year you could have college brats partying all the time, the next year you'll have a young family with one or two under 10yrs kids, the next year, you could sling a dead cat through here and not hit a soul. So, it is very hard to accurately gauge the noise level.Management definitely needs to take better care of their tenants, though; however, the price might help to make up for that, depending on what your standards are.I've had minor problems continue for years before being fixed (some still haven't been), and alot of fixes are quick fixes and don't look very professional. You really have to keep on them.I'll be leaving soon, but because I've outgrown the place moreso than any other reason. The poor service might make you want to leave, but the price would keep you there. One recent example of poor service: they tore up the pool and instead of putting in more parking for the convenience of the people who lived behind the pool, they planted some grass and some corny gardenrama thing -- all the plants died, they haven't replanted, nor did they lower rent for taking out the pool.
