| We stayed at waterford place for an year. It is located in a good area- shopping is closeby. There are also a lot of eating places within a 5 mile radius. The rent was high- we liked the plan and hoped for good service and good accomodation. Their plan were spacious and the ceeling was high. However the construction was generally poor- at some spots the wooden panels would make noise when someone stepped on them. Also, the AC made a lot of noise- when we complained we were told that this is due to faulty plumbing during construction and nothing can be done about it. However, we did find that there was less disturbance from the folks living above us. When we moved in, many small things were left unfixed on one or the other pretext- when we wanted the cracked referigerator basket replaced, we were told that the manufacturer had stopped making it. Later when it broke, it was replaced, but we were made to bear with a broken basket for months. Security was so-so. We did not have anything stolen, but a car-stereo was stolen from my friends car parked in the apartment parking lot. There are no gates or checks on vehicles in the parking lot, as with many other places. We were very disappointed with the management. Initially, the clubhouse was free for residents. Then one fine day they started charging $50 saying the someone who used it did not keep it maintained. That was one of the things that had attracted us here initially. The maintainence always took more than 1-2 days to act on a service request, although the management would tell us that someone would follow up the same day. Whenever we tried to raise an issue, it was mentioned that this is standard policy or the owners have deemed it so etc. Most of the time it felt that they were least interested in the residents point of view. Also the management would act as if they are the best place in town- their renewal notice also has to be given 45 days in advance as opposed to others which ask for 30 days. At renewal time they charge big extra fee for month-to-month above the market rate, whereas other places charge market rate after an year. In short we were very disappointed with the complex. One might want to look at other options in the area more closely before deciding to move in here. And if you are moving here, don't expect anything great for the big rent that you are paying. And also be warned that once you are here, you might feel that you are on your own. |
