| Recent Review: | | This place needs better management and major updating. There are either unrenovated or renovated apartments. The renovated apartments look better, but are far, far overpriced.I just purchased a home that was completed renovated, 3 bedrooms, 1.5 bath, 2 car garage, colonial style and my mortage will be the same as a 2 bedroom renovated apt. here. It's a rip-off.The unrenovated suites are disgusting and I was too embarassed to ever invite anyone over. The carpets where worn, no padding beneath, chipped woodwork, kitchen/bathroom a complete mess. They did not paint my apartment before I moved in. These apartments are noisy; renovated or not.The sounds from other apartments echo through yours. You can hear everyone pound up and down the steps, the washer and drying rattle the first floor apartments, and you can hear your neighbors through the walls. My neighbor's TV is my background music right now.The renovated apartments make for more noise as the tile floor offers a nice "click, clack" as some one walks across it in hard-soled shoes from 2nd floor unit and gives a nice sound when things are dropped on it or a chair is slid across it-can always tell when the guy upstairs is eating his meals. The floors are not padded, and have a very hollow sound when walking across them. My neighbor did not have air conditioning for 4 weeks in June when we were having the 90+ degree heat wave, she is elderly and has breathing difficulties.I was about to call the news to get some action. They do little landscaping. The bushes are either overgrown (8' tall) , or have bare patches that just look horrible. They will trim only what they can reach, so the tops are always jagged.New mulch is needed. There are *some* privacy fences for 1st floor apts., ask to see that yours has one, otherwise everyone walking in and out of the building has a full view of your 'patio' and livingroom. Snow removal was bad in the winter, invest in a good shovel and some salt to protect yourself from falls and to dig your car out.Front stoop was always icy, watched neighbors fall repeatedly.Maintanence lives onsite and one would think he could lay some salt, but living here proves one should never think since nothing they do makes sense. When skilled labor is needed, they use the maintenance man.He doesn't know much.Instead of calling in the electrician, plumber, furnance tech. first and saving you time, he'll come, tinker a bit, and determine that someone else needs to be called.I had no heat for a week in the winter bc instead of immediately calling the repairman, they made me wait for maintanence to come out, tinker, then call and make an appt. with the actual repairman. The work that is done by mainanence is not done well at all. All in all, I am not happy with this apartment. If they invested in some soundproofing between the walls, floors, and ceilings I might find this place to be a bit better. If they had better management of the maintainence, this would also be helpful. If all units were updated without the big increase in price, I might recommend this apt. |
