| Recent Review: | | When my roommates and I viewed the apartment we were about to move into, we thought that it was great.But I guess we should've realized from the 20 page long lease that we should've walked right out of the door. Upon move in, there were huge red stains all over the living carpeting that they told us we could try and hide with the couches.The management is completely rude to deal with.My apartment was one of two in a house. I lived in the upstairs apartment.During the winter, the water pipes in the basement became frozen because they aren't insulated like most normal landlords do.We called and were told that they had other apartments to take care of.When we asked them when they could be over, we were hung up on!This caused the pipes to continue to freeze even more which made them burst.When our dishwasher broke 3 months before moving out, we were told that they were done fixing dishwashers this year.In my opinion, when you're a landlord the work is never done.They still haven't fixed the dishwasher after our complaints.The apartment is also way to expensive for what it's worth.The three of us each paid 320 a month plus all utilities.A total rip off.We even had to pay for parking in the lot behind our house, sewage, you name it!Also, the security deposit is 300 but they keep half for it to be professionally cleaned which it isn't.They leave a long list of what needs to be cleaned when you move out or else you get charged for it.Not to mention that this place is old and has very drafty windows.Our gas heating bill was over 300 in the winter and this was with the heat set at 60-still cold to live in.Any problems we had, we had to deal with unproffessional landlords.During the year, the apartment below mine was broken into-robbed and trashed.When Runco was notified, they never replaced the screen in the girls window.They simply stated that no place is ever burglarized twice so it should be pretty safe for us all now.A month later, a girl in the park across the street was assaulted and found with her mouth duct taped shut, hands bound and her eyes covered.Real safe atmosphere.Also, I had to live here for one month in the summer to take a summer class and had an arrangement with them.Then, they changed their mind and said that I had to move out because they had too many repairs to do.I had to argue my way into being allowed to stay here since I had no where else to go.Then, they told me three different prices for what it would cost for the month I would be here.To top it all off, I called them twice in one week to tell them I was waiting for my loan refund.This was fine with them until suddenly they have the maitenance man drop off a note 3 days later saying that I had to have my rent paid in full by 5pm that day or I was going to be locked out of my apartment!Who is so unproffessional that they can't simply call to see what is going on and then demands money be given to them in a 4 hour time period.I've had enough of the slum lords that operate here in Indiana.By the way, the lease with Runco states that no tenant should talk any slander on them.I hate these people and wouldn't wish my worst enemy to have to deal with them! |
