1. 223 Mathilda Street - Halsband Properties
223 S Mathilda Street
Pittsburgh  PA, 15224
22.5
Recent Review:Hello,I live in 223 south mathilda apartments from halsband, #9.I absolutely love my apartment.I live by myself and this is a great apartment to do so.My bedroom is huge and my queensize canopy bed fits into an alcove in my bedroom (which has an exposed brick wall with fireplace, as does the living room)My kitchen was redone and has a new refridgerator, stove, counter and cabinets. My favorite part of my eat-in kitchen is the china hutch with counter.Another good part about halsband is that the gas is included and with the outrageous gas prices in Pittsburgh, this factor helps out a lot. There was only one instance that maintence had to come which was because of a leak from days of rain in my ceiling.he called before he came and fixed my ceiling, cracked paint on the wall and replaced the lightbulb in my kitchen. You cant beat the location and the free parking in the back either!

Recent Review:4512 centre is a total mess, ceiling caved in but landlordedgos did nothing. the property was littered with an abandon car, refrigerator with door on it, stove and other furinture pulled from one of the untils. she expected her rent on time, but is 4 yrs behind on her taxes on that house and 3 yrs behind her other properties.one of her buildings was rated the eyesore of the month by a local newspaper.

Recent Review:I think it needs alot of work. The house is old, however, the windows are very frail with no screens. The pipes leak and freeze easily. The lights are on timer and they do not come on until 7 pm and it is too dark.

5. Carlyle Arms
Herbert Halsband Properties, 271 Shady Ave
Pittsburgh  PA, 15232

Recent Review:I have been living here for about 4 years, and one of the main reasons I moved in was because the staff (including the resident manager, and the owner, Mr. Herbert Halsband) were courteous and seemed reasonable about maintenance,My first two years here was quite pleasant. However, recently things have changed, as Sheri Halsband, (the owner's daughter, I think), seems to have taken charge of this particular building. She is one of the rudest and most unreasonable people I have ever dealt with, and is quite inefficient to boot! The resident manager has changed too, and is still rather nice, but I doubt is she has much say in the maintenance and management. I can state quite a few examples of the situation now. Some of the wall tiles in our bathroom came down one day, and we could not use the bath. After repeated calls, we ended up having to clean the room. It was then left covered in trash bags by the management for about TWO MONTHS, while they looked for 'tiles that match the current set'. Any attempt at expediting the process was met by rudeness on Sheri's part. Similarly, I moved apartments within the same building, and ended up having to clean the carpets of both the place I was moving out of, and the place I was moving into. In addition, they took money for cleaning the carpets out of my security deposit! Again, any attempts at reason were met by extreme rudeness. Everything there is quite old, and the management has recently repeatedly resorted to stop-gap arrangements to fix problems. This is not what I expect from a not-so-cheap apartment. So I have had enough, and am moving out.
6. Chatugay Apartments

Recent Review:The apartmnets are nice, but the management is horrible the building owner harrasses me and my wife. Their supposable security lobby, is not secure at all. I got attacked by 4 people in it and the lardlord tried to evict us because there was blood on the floor. If you are young do not move here the owner will try to blame everythingthat goes wrong in the building on you... overall the aparments are nice but the management is the worst that i have ever seen

Recent Review:Do not live here! Our apartment seemed very nice, great view, two bedrooms but look out! We had a horrible cockroach problem. It was disgusting. And it is definitely not safe. One time I was in the shower and I came out of the bathroom in my towel and screamed because there was some man in my apartment. He was from maintenance and wanted to look at my lights and he just let himself in without even asking or knocking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Recent Review:Being a single occupant of a 2BR 1B apt, I almost have too much space. The newly renovated kitchens (with dishwasher)offer much needed storage space. The management and maintenance crew work non-stop to keep all tenants satisified. Our property manager is fixated on client satisfaction. During these spring and summer months, she organizes a monthly activity for all the children and families on property. The maintenance crew always seems to be at work whether salting and shoveling snow as it accumulates or weekly mowing and pruning the landscape.Cloverleaf Village is a unique property, a neighborhood in and of itself. I encourage everyone to at least check it out.
