| Recent Review: | | It is an okay apartment. The price is right, and if you go to UT, you couldn't be closer.The free parking is awful, but if you pay 30 dollars a month you can get a reserved spot in the garage.If you make friends with the maintenence guys they are pretty good about checking things.The elevators break down a lot!It can be noisy since we are so close to hospitals and the ghetto, but it has a gas station and a grocery store less than 1 mile away!It is MUCH better than Adams Place, and they have garbage disposals, dishwashers, icemakers, and washing machines in every apartment.The communal utility service is kind of a rip off though. |

| Recent Review: | | Theresa Green is a horrific manager and person.I have had numerous run ins with her.In each case, she has been rude, aggressive and wholly unprofessional.If you decide to move here, be very careful.Prepare to do battle with Green.She is the worst. |

| Recent Review: | | The maintenance staff is excellent!!! The management id rude!!they have people in your business and they do not know how to talk to people who live in the building. It is a highrise project with dirty walls, graffit in the elevators and windows you can not open. If you want to live downtown pay the price and stay somewhere else. DO NOT DO NOT LIVE HERE. The only nice place is the entrance way. |

| Recent Review: | | I moved to the University Cabanas in 2002 due to their value and I had several friends and family members living there.I moved away in November 2004 for a new job.While I was transitioning between apartments the new management entered my apartment without permission and removed my belongings, some were damaged and lost.Although I was compensated financially, it was only after I threatened legal action.The new manager Frieda does not seem to care about being helpful, polite or courteous to residents.Many of my friends and family have left or are moving out soon.Crime has also gone up in recent months.A former neighbor had is car broken into and belongings stolen.DO NOT MOVE HERE, FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE AT ALL COST!!!!! |

| Recent Review: | | When we first moved in, the dryer did not work, nor did the brand new refrigerator, and the faucets leaked. After having the dryer repaired 3 times, it works, the fridge after 4 times, and now only two faucets leak. The garbage disposal has also needed repairing, after 2 visits from an exterminator of management's choosing we are going to have to buy bugbombs - we have no pets and fleas in our carpets. Now, there is a leak underneath the floor in our bedroom - after a heavy rain the carpet is soaked and will take all day and night to dry. Parking lot also smells terrible due to dead ducks in the polluted ponds! Neighbors annoy and harass us almost every time we step outside, and are very very loud. Definitely not worth the $599 we are paying for it!! |

| Recent Review: | | Liked it when I first moved in.Maintenance has gotten awful - called to report a problem and was told they didn't even have a maintenance person anymore.Many items on the move-in check list have never been fixed and I've been there almost a year.Hired a new landscaping crew - sprayed the grass with fertilizer (wasn't mixed right - the color of the fertilizer was BRIGHT YELLOW - not green).Landscraping crew came in to "trim" trees - they were butchered.I had two nice oak trees outside my bedroom - they were trimmed to almost nothing - privacy and shade are complete gone!There are large potholes in the driveway areas.The center courtyard is a mud pit. |

| Recent Review: | | A/c Maintenance- they say they can't do unless its summer..Parking- No chance if your friend wants to join you for teaExhaust fan- they think its not necessary to fix it.. Water leaks- its not their office, so they dont care if its leaking and mildew grown..Satellite-wont give you permission if you wantrecently remodeled aptmts -only outside and hiked rents 15%Dishwasher fixing- they say you can use your hands.. Security-just few gunshots -mugging in the parking lot..(my roomie got shot in his leg- gods grace he is alive) Management -very courteous |

| Recent Review: | | First, let me respond to the poster who said that the grounds were always clean.Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Most of the time there are beat up automobiles sitting around collecting dust, dog poop all over the grass, trash and huge furniture falling out of the dumpsters, and cigarette butts everywhere.(I moved out one week ago, so I actually have a clue what goes on!)The security guards sleep up at the pools; one was a 70 year-old woman in a broken down Buick.Not one month ago, I called police to come collect one of the three PIT BULLs that had been allowed to run loose.(Many of the residents don't keep their dogs on leashes.)The streets are abominable!!!Between the speed bumps and the massive potholes that they keep patching, my tires needed realignment every two weeks.Residents post signs about robberies, and management does NOTHING.Shelby County has a warrants page on the net; check how many people from Woodchase are listed on there...why?No background check.My neighbor moved out, my friend down the street moved out, and now I'm out.Why?It's like a big unmonitored government housing unit with trash moving in on a daily basis.It's as close to living at 201 Poplar as you can get. |
