| I recently moved out of AMLI Knox-Henderson after 18 months. If you loved living in a fraternity house, you will probably love AMLI Knox-Henderson.There are spoiled rich kids vandalizing the property (elevators, walls, floors) at all hours of the night. There is a basketball court that is really like a park.Several non-tenants will come by for a pick up game each day. There is the occasional break-in in the garage. If you ignore my advice and move into AMLI Knox-Henderson be sure to fill out you move-in damage report in full. When I moved out they tried to hit me up for all kinds of bogus charges. They leave you with very little choice but to pay it.They threaten to send you to collections and to contact all three credit companies to ruin your credit. They did cut mine in half when I complained, but that was still a very unfair amount. It just shows that they are out to stick their tenants whenever possible. Make sure they give you new carpet. The apartments I saw (including my own) had very old and cheap carpet.I once spilled a water in the living room and no amount of scrubbing could clean the stain because it was so old and worn. When I moved out, they tried to charge me $100 for one or two stains on the carpet.I explained how nasty the carpet was when I moved in, but they said they were able to make it look good again. It will look good until about one or two weeks into the next tenant's stay in the apartment.I was amazed that they were going to keep this carpet that was very old and faded when I moved in 18 months ago. I could go on like this forever, but I will stop now.The Knox-Henderson area is a great area. There are many young professionals in this area and most of the people are very nice and respectful.Unfortunately, almost all of the students and immature graduates in this are live at AMLI.I have heard the Gables across the street are pretty good and they have tougher restrictions on renting to student tenants.I would recommend talking to the Gables or looking in the Uptown or Cedar Springs areas. |
