Recent Review:I lived there for 6 months and had no problems with the tenants, staff, or building complex what so ever. I would highly recommend this as a safe friendly environment. Sincerelly, a San Antonio Police Officer.

Recent Review:If you're looking for a place with CHEAP rent, centrally located and that's decent (not posh but not embarassing!) this is the place. If you can tolerate an indifferent at best leasing staff, mediocre at best maintenance, and cranky old people as neighbors, you'll do just fine. Some units are nicer than others so if you're shopping around, make sure to check out several units, if available.I've left once and came back and actually got the full refundable part of my deposit back so the management is fair!

Recent Review:Close to I-10, UTSA, and major stores. Management is pretty good and the people are mostly friendly. It's relatively quiet for a college apartment. Parking can be a hassle, but it's not too bad. Rent is pretty cheap and management will work you a deal.

Recent Review:The following is an e-mail I attempted to send to Sunridge Management about El Chaparral apartments. The e-mail address on there website is invalid.Dear Sunridge Management:We are sending this e-mail as a complaint. The management and maintenance staff at the El Chaparral apartments in San Antonio, TX have disappointed us to the point of terminating our lease. We have lived in two different apartments and have had continuous maintenance issues. The first apartment had a water leak in the dining room caused by an aquarium in the apartment upstairs. After repeated efforts on our part to have the damage to the wall fixed, it wasn't until we demanded a new apartment or a lease termination that any action was taken by the management or maintenance. We had been put off for more than four months. Mold and the paint flaking off the wall was our main concern because we have a small child. In the end a new apartment was available close to our old apartment was vacant so we moved agreeing to stay with the property for at least six more months. As we moved into our new apartment ( which we were very happy with at first ) new problems began to arise. The first major problem was the air conditioning not cooling properly and leaking. Our apartment was very humid and not cooling to the degree that our old apartment had cooled. It also had a leak that continued due to a rusty drip pan that did not drain properly. This problem was fixed temporarily and then rigged to stop the pan from dripping. This process took a couple of months of repeated visits by maintenance. In addition to this our front door needs new weather stripping causing the AC problems to be worse. We can see daylight through the cracks around the door. Our apartment gets very warm when we have guests or we cook.We have also had a problem with our toilet constantly running. It would run as we were showering causing the shower to spray hot water. We have a sink in our bathroom that we cannot shut off at all unless we turn off the shutoff valve under the sink. We recently had a burner on our stove short out causing a small fire on our stove. It was replaced however the new burner does not work. Our soap dispenser on our dishwasher is broken which causes it to be pretty much useless for washing dishes. Also the pools at this complex are horrendous. For more than half the summer they have been flourecent green and shut down by the health department. We have invited guests over to go swimming only to find the pools are nasty. This has been an ongoing problem here that began back in May. Instead of cleaning the pools properly and keeping them maintained, they have been allowed to become extremely unpleasant. We are not the only residents who are having problems with the maintenance and management. We have talked to several of our neighbors who have told us of similar issues. Our next door neighbor has had no success in getting their AC fixed either. We are always getting excuses and very little results. Recently we have begun having problems with spiders. After talking with our neighbors, we found out that they were also having problems with spiders and that they are unable to use their patio because a tree outside their fence is infested with spider webs. They have reported this problem to the management only to be ignored as we have been ignored. In conclusion, we do not know if this property is understaffed, poorly maintained, or mismanaged but we are finished having our issues ignored or being fed one excuse after another why things are not being taken care of at El Chaparral. We hope this e-mail will turn into action for this property.Sincerely,Charlie & Arlessa Campos3819 Harry WurzbachApt# M1San Antonio, TX 78209( As a side note, we gave a maintenance request to Natalie Vick on August 3, 2004 for at least six different items to which we have had no response. The manager of El Chaparral, Nancy, was also in the office as we explained these problems to Natalie.)

Recent Review:These apartments are a nightmare...not to mention the staff..including the office and maintence. ANTS galore that do not get taken care of unless you go buy the stuff from Home Depot which is toxic for children. The parking is nuts...heaven forbid you own 2 cars, as most people do or if you have a friend over. Birds nesting in the dryer vents and the smell of dead carcus when you use your dryer....it kills them. No place for children to play so they play in the parking lot with cars zooming in and out. Speed bumps don't seem to help. Garbage, which they are now trying to charge residents a monthly fee for, is piled up at least 5 ft outside the dumpsters. I feel terrible for the apt residents that live next to it. I live in the new building and I have maintence issue still left undone. It took 2 weeks and then some to get the man to get the dead bird taken care of. He tried to convince me there was nothing there. He was wrong. I could go on and on and on but I'm planning on printing all the reviews I can find and giving them to the office....see if it makes any differene at all. Somehow I doubt it.!

Recent Review:Staff appears to be nice and friendly but as far as service is concerned they don't do it completely. One of the tenants in my buildings smokes alot of pot (almost daily if she's there) and the smoke creeps up to my bathroom. I've told the office staff about it but of all the times I've complained, nothing has been done as there is smoke almost every night. However, I doubt that no one smokes pot in any of the buildings in which the staff lives.

Recent Review:For the most part i would say these apartments are pretty good.I live in a one bedroom 1 bathroom apartment. It's spacious and the utility and water bills are reasonable.I pay around $15 to $20 for water and around $65 to $70 in utilities.Maintance is oncall 24/7 and they respond quickly. The only problem with them is that it might take them a few times to actually fix the problem. It took seven calls about an overflowing toilet to get a new one installed.Yeah we suffered because again this is a two bedroom. They also have someone out to spray for bugs every week, and if you call the office to schedule the visit, they do show up to spray. They don't give you a time, just that they come between 8:00 am-12 pm.The management is friendly. The things I don't like are the type of people that live here.I know they need to fill the apartments but they should be a little more selective.I know my previous neighbor was a drug dealer and a lot of cars have been vandalized and broken into. And the pool is clean but I don't trust it because stupid people put their babies who are in diapers in the pool...gross.The basketball courts need to be condemned.I also wish they would enforce the breed restrictions for pets and fine people for not picking up after their dogs. Some advice, watch where you step. For the price it is ok, but I won't be resigning my lease in november.

Recent Review:Kennedy Arms Apartments(Rating the one bedroom)Apartments:The apartments at the Kennedy Arms are efficient for living, but not exactly the best choice. They are larger than most apartments I have seen. They do have central air and heat. Someunits have ceiling fans. The kitchens are very small. The do have walk-in closets. They do have carpet in the bedrooms. Most living rooms also have carpet. There is a window in the bedroom and two side by side windows in the living room. The A/C in located in the attic above the bathroom. There is also a hallway closet.Parking:There are no assigned parking at The Kennedy Arms. There are two parking lots. The front parking lot was recently renovated while the rear parking lot has remained in poor condition. There is limited covered parking.Exterior:The roof seems to be in good condition, however, you can hear the maintenance constantly walking back and forth making repairs. The lights in the hallways and over the tenants doors are never all working. Usually it's up to the tenant to report broken lights. There are two dumpsters, one located in each parking lot. They are in fair condition. Over the weekends they get full and end up having trash all around the sides. The stairs are in fair condition. Wire was added to the rails along the terraces. Some areas have wire sticking out. There is one pool at the Kennedy Arms. It goes up to six feet deep. There is also one laundry room. The mailboxes havejust been replaced.Management:The management at The Kennedy Arms is sufficient. There is a 24 hour maintenance number, however, getting thins fixed usually takes a while. The apartments have constant water problems. You may even wake up to no water. The owner's of the apartments have an office located in the apartments as well, however, it is not the main office for Kennedy Arms tenants.
