| Recent Review: | | I lived here only for 5 months, as I was living in Madison only temporarily. We were looking to save money while we were there, before starting graduate school elsewhere, so we wanted a cheaper place, but still someplace livable. We looked at some other places in the same price range, actually all of them were more expensive, and this place was the least expensive and had the most amenities. It seemed too good to be true!I kept waiting to discover the "catch", but, as far as I can tell, there isn't one!:)This place is owned by a man and his wife, and you can tell they take pride in their property and care about their residents. They put in a "fitness center" in the basement with key card entry, which consists of some exercise equipment that everyone can use, a TV with VCR mounted on the wall, and and a marked off area around the perimeter that you can run on.The owner even told us how many laps equal a mile! There is also a camera set up in the entryway for security, and you can view the live footage at all times on a channel on the free cable that is included with rent (not sure if this is still being offered - I know the cable situation was up for renegotiation when i left).Everyone gets parking permits, there is plenty of room in the lot, and everyone gets a storage space as well. There is coin-op laundry on-site, and I never had a problem with having to wait for machines. The apartments have A/C, and small dishwashers, which is nice!Heat and water are included in rent, and pets are allowed for a small additional monthly fee.The owners instantly seemed down-to-earth and trustworthy, and proved to be very nice and great to deal with.We never needed any repairs, except to a showerhead which started leaking. One of the owners happened to stop by right after the leaking started, and we let them know of the problem and it was fixed IMMEDIATELY.The other residents are quiet, and friendly - mostly younger or middle-aged people who live alone, and a few families. The apartments aren't huge (about 600 square feet), but they are big enough, and more than enough room for one person.I felt completely safe here - never heard or saw any trouble in my short time living there. The area is convenient - there is a grocery store, Blockbuster, Cold Stone (YES!), some restaurants, a post office, hair salon, etc. nearby. It is right off the highway, and centrally located, which makes getting places very easy, and close to a gorgeous bike trail. And the neighborhood is diverse, which is always a plus!We left the place very clean, with minimal wear and tear incurred, and got our full security deposit back (which was nice and low to begin with).I would recommend Bristol Arms to anyone looking for low rent and a great value in the Madison area. |

| Recent Review: | | Be very cautious about renting in casa blanca and goldleaf development in general.Things to be aware of:-The hot tub has no jets (useless)-The pool is very cold all the time-Most rooms either face a brick wall 20 feet away or get loud traffic noise-Smoking is allowed in the building (the smell was everywhere on a floor with only one smoker)-The windows in the basement |

| Recent Review: | | If you don't mind paying a bit more for the new apartments, they are very nice to live in with lots of amenities.(washer, dryer, and internet)Just don't expect to get a warm, SINCERE, flexible attitude with all the staff members.Therefor the least amount of contact you have with them the better. |

| Recent Review: | | Extremely bad experiece overall. Maintenance people and landlord were pretty rude. They don't want to do any maintenance work and while vacating they are checking behind the fridge and under the dish washer for dirt. No cleaning or overall regular work, except lawn and snow cleaning. Just disgusting, no gym, swimming pool, community hall but they charge for them anyway (you get them at the same price left and right of this place). They will send you lease renewal notice 10 months in advance and with a strike a deal like you get one patio grill if you renew the lease. Don't expect you deposit back. |

| Recent Review: | | Living in this apartment was awful.I had to call the building inspector to get them to do repairs and the repair men were sloppy. One time I found my toilet brush on the kitchen table. The receptionist was rude and blocked my calls from the management. They also came in whenever they felt like doing repairs with no notice. It is obvious they are just waiting to tear the house down and ringing as much money from the tenants as they can in the mean time. |

| Recent Review: | | Positive: Rent was considerably cheap, all utilities included which was a plus. For the most part, it was quiet on the weekends besides the occassional drunk walking though the parking lot.Negative: Hallways are pretty dirty, parking is incredibly expensive and for the most part nonexistant. The apartments could use new carpet and appliances (which are very old). The bathroom was the worst part consisting of very hard water, moldy faucets, and the water was brown sometimes. The maintenance staff was hit or miss...my oven was fixed promptly but the hole in the wall near the air conditioner took a week to fix and all they did was nail a board over it (so there were still small holes).Overall, the apartment is ok, and if you're looking for cheap housing without parking on campus this place would be ok. |
