Review: I've lived in this complex for 2 years and found that the committment to serving residents is hit and miss.The maintenance crew however is outstanding and has been incredibly helpful and timely with maintenance issues.The management is militant about rent being very strict.After being told that as long as rent gets in before they come into the office in the 2nd - due to a hectic schedule I was hoping to take advantage of this minimal showing of flexibility...only to incur a late fee because residents are NOT informed as to when office hours change.Office hours change twice each year yet residents are NOT informed.The signs outside the office ARE NOT changed to reflect the accurate times.Beware - they will do anything to charge you late fees.Some of the call boxes have not been fixed in a long time.Delivery people have commented on management's lack of commitment to fix them.For the rent charged you would think you could at least be able to let your visitors in with minimal trouble.The apartment I moved into was not up to standards as far as cleanliness.Even one of the maintenance crew remarked that this should have been cleaned up for me...again the crew is wonderful and has taken the sting out of the experiences with management.I have unfortunately recommended this complex to two people and with this review will stop doing so.

Review:Don't let those "Crime FreeRental Housing" signs fool you. Just look at the gang grafitti about. My car as well as three other tenants in my building and one single mother all had our windshields broken on the evening of Thanksgiving. No one saw it and nothing was done to accomadate us. The person who was harassing us all most likely did it. He was there trespassing even after an order of protection was placed.

Review: I lived at stargate west for over a year.I never once had a problem with my apartment.Management was always friendly and, suprisingly, knew my name and always seemed genuinely interested in my continued enjoyment.Hopefully, I will find myself back in the tucson area so I can move in again.

Review: Prepare for an adventure when you decide to move into the Hilands. Pre-lease expenses to management will be paid by you via money order, no refunds--sorry! Any Office Staff promises will be kept--until you sign the lease! Your first floor living is one way to evesdrop on your upstars neighbors, 'cause you will hear everything they do--flush toilet, use shower, walk across floor, etc..First floor occupants may experience water leaks from the second floor or from beneath the ground floor. (Faulty water pipe construction) Of course first floor living also invites multilegged "critters" into your home. (you better like Spiders) Your expensive motor vehicle is subjected to dings and scratches in the narrow parking slots, and don't even consider parking a high theft vehicle at Hilands.Maintenance: yes there's a maintenance crew, but wait your turn for repairs, Mr/Ms renter, because maintenance workers are busy getting new units ready for future suckers. If your employment involves shift work, don't expect to get much sleep in the morning when the leaf blowers arrive, or the many birds start cooing. There's more, but I think you get the picture!There are worse rental places in Tucson and obviously there are better places. Shop around before you consider The Hilands.

Review: Whet more can you ask for.A 1,500 SF apartment (yeah bigger than some houses).Only eight units, which makes for a very quite sleep time, covered parking, and the apartment owner always close by, to take care of those apartment needs.3 Bedroom, 3 Bathroom, 1,500 SF Dream - At the low price of $825.00 a month.

Review: The Blockhouse is just plain horrible.i have had my car stolen.to later find out that management had it towed to someones house on the other side of tucson.they never reimbursed me for the cost of the tow which incidentally equalled the cost of one months rent.also my bathroom ceiling starting flowing with leaking water.when sam the maintenance man came by he noticed a ton of asbestos in the walls.my whole bathroom was covered with it.and when i confronted the management, all they said was scotia group has lawyers and they gave me a wrong number to the community managers.they will not let me out of my new lease that hasnt even started yet.i would not recommend living here no matter what the case is.

Review: I HAVE LIVED @ GLENBROOK FOR 2YRS, THERE IS NOW A NEW OFFICE STAFF.MY CAR HAS BEEN VANDALAIZED AND BROKEN INTO TWICE.SOMEONE HAS TRIED TO BREAK INTO MY APARTMENT, AND ALL THIS HAS HAPPEN W/IN 1 & 1/2 MONTHS.THERE IS ALSO AN ISSUE W/A MAINTENANCE MAN WHO LET'S HIMSELF INFO TENANTS APT W/O NOTICE OR REASON.WHEN COMPLAINING TO THE OFC STAFF ABOUT HIM THEY SAY "WE ARE AWARE, WE HAVE HAD MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT HIM.WE'LL SPEAK W/HIM AGAIN."YET 2 WKS LATER HE'S STILL WORKING ON THE GROUNDS.OFC DOESN'T CARE, MAY BE IN ON IT. WHO KNOWS.AND NOTHING GETS FIXED- HANDY MAN NEEDS TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL.

Review: I have lived here for 6 months and havent had any problems. There was a problem with vandalism at the pools but thats been addressed- I find the manager(New Manager for 2005) to be a decent and professional person. there isnt any gang related incidents despite its proximity to area schools (AndI know for sureother complexes in the area (just a block or so away) are heavy with gang violence.) The apartments are okay size wise-its not like you dont know what youre moving into- you pick which actual apartment you want from theavailabile unitsSome Apartment Managerss just say "Okay, you want THIS floorplan, here you go"- not concerned if the units location in the complex is inconvienent for you. As far as noise issues, no apartment is soundproof,(Im talking about ANY apartment anywhere!) The grounds are clean, maintenence responds in a timely manner and I havent been hasseled even slightly by anyone. As far as Meth Labs go- (from another review source) I would be inclined to think by the tone of the review, that the reviewer had the meth lab in HIS or HER apartment!

Review: I have a friend that lives here. There has been no problems. Maybe someone is smoking weed but you have that every where. I also haven't heard of any issues with people getting into other peoples cars. My friend and I are going to get a two bedroom.

Review: While managment has had a very high turnover here over the past years.I am extremely pleased with the current manager for the past 8 months.The manager is very professional and has the experience to get things done.The office and maintenance staff are now better than ever.All are reliable and professional.No tenant gossip is heard.They are extremely professional and friendly at the same time.Crime prevention is getting better thanks to maintenance staff awareness!

Review: Apartment was in bad shape when we moved in.Carpet contains disgusting stains that were present when I moved in.Many things have gone wrong since I have been here.Faulty outlets, bathtub faucet constantly drips, water comes into apartment when it rains.The manager is a flake to say the least.Says he will take care of things but never gets around to it (forgetful I guess).I've reminded him 3 different times about the faucet and he still hasn't taken care of it.Just empty promises.On a positive note, he is very lenient on the rent due date and he never collected our 150 dollar pet deposit.Crime is pretty bad here.The complex apparently has security cameras but in fact there is only one.A stationary camera that is set up over the office.Had 2 bikes stolen from myself and my girlfriend while we lived here.Also, during our stay, a tenants vehicle had its tires slashed and was keyed.Nearly every night there are shady characters that gather around an apartment building.There are also many bums and supsicious looking people that patrol the area.I would certainly not reccomend this place to anybody.Although, if you are looking for something cheap (studios 355; 1 bedroom 420) then it might be the place for you.Except for my bikes being stolen and the flakey manager, I have not had any extremely bad problems during my stay at this complex.

Review: I'VE NEVER BEEN SO DISAPPOINTED IN MY 19 YEARS! MOVED IN WITH A 1 YEAR LEASE AND WAS OUT BY 4 MONTHS! VERY BAD SIDE OF TOWN. 3 VANDALIZED CARS(IN 1 MONTH)AND 1 STOLEN (NEVER FOUND) IN 3 MONTHS. NO SECURITY. VIOLENT, DOMESTIC ACTIVITY IN APTS. MOLD IN KITCHEN CABINETS. BAD SEWER SYSTEM. DIRTY OVERALL. NO MAINTENENCE. OVER 5 COMPLAINTS MADE TO MANAGEMENT, 1 WAS RESPONDED. WE WERE TOLD VANDALISM WAS NOT THEIR JOB. CALLED MANAGER AND WAS LEFT WITH A DIAL TONE! (HE DIDN'T WANT TO HEAR FROM US)DO YOURSELVES A FAVOR AND DONT LOOK INTO THESE APTS. NOT AS NICE AS THE PICS ONLINE.

Review: Good location but the management was unbearable.Every time I went to the office there was someone new.Finally in summer of 2004 an extremely rude manager took over who should change her career to a collections agent.My neighbors next to me had the door kicked in by the police and were evicted soon after.My designated parking space was always occupied by someone else.The walls and ceilings were so thin I could follow my upstairs neighbor as he moved around his apt. And if you're looking for overpriced for what it is, you've found it.

Review: The apartments must be filled with lots of roommates because parking is beginning to get ridiculous.People are starting to park next to the dumpsters, in the handicapped spaces, and there's even some double parking going on!I do like the maintenance and the management.I like the perks of having free one-day video rentals and free one-day passes to the fitness center down the street (even though I don't really take the management up on these offers, it's nice to know they're there).It's also a really great location in town, and I feel safe here...Moving on...I've lived here for 2 years and I've outlasted many neighbors that share an entire dividing wall with me, and MY bedroom (my roommate has a room that shares a wall with the quiet neighbors, lucky her), and I have ALWAYS had problems with our neighbors being loud!First, it started off with fighting neighbors, then I had partying neighbors, and now I have a neighbor that plays her violin at all hours of the night while I'm trying to sleep.I can hear her in my bedroom when she's playing in her living room!I can also hear the people that live in the apartment directly below me playing their music really early in the morning.It's pretty ridiculous that both the floor and the walls are so thin!!Oh yeah, if not having your water running ticks you off, this might not be the place for you.We've experienced the water being turned off without notice for "repairs".We went two weeks without hot water about a year ago, our air conditioning went out twice during the hottest nights of summer because they didn't fix it right the first time, and our garbage disposal went out twice, thanks to that lovely double-the-work guarantee.
