The management has all of their family from the L.A. Area living there. Their sons are free to do as they please. You can't wash your cars in the parking lot, but their sons will blow dirt on your car when cleaning pkg lot. They have run all the good people off and left the trash living there. Oh, and let's not forget the daily and nightly police and drug raids. I guess you could say there is some exitement there, if that is what you are looking for. Hope your apt. doesn't burn down because the fire dept can't get in the gate.

Apartment Reviews - Sierra Terrace East, bakersfield

Sierra Terrace East
4419 Belle Terrace
Bakersfield, CA

Overall Rating: 1 (out of 5)

Review: They lie. They will cheat. They will rob from you.Maria is one of the managers, she is helpful and nice, but NOBODY else is.The other manager, Staci, is rude, unprofessional, and is a liar. Her supervisor is Judy.Judy is incompetent, unreliable, and incapable of doing her job. When I asked who was Judy's supervisor was she told me there was not anyone, but she does not own the company which claims to own the property...sounds fishy. The windows face west, so during the summer this will account for roughly a $100 electrical bill to cool the apartment.I had a constant roach problem while there, which they supposedly sprayed for, but was never resolved. The apartment was incredibly dirty and filthy when I moved in and they offered to paint over some of the mold that had developed before I moved in.

Apartment Reviews - Villa La Jolla, Bakersfield

Villa La Jolla
2601 Columbus St
Bakersfield, CA

Overall Rating: 1 (out of 5)

Review: If I can save just one person from this apartment nightmare then it will be worth it!! The walls are so thin that we have heard the neighbor behind us blow his nose! We have heard the neighbor next to us snoring, but the worst is their LOUD music.Complain! Complain! Complain! We have to constantly complain because the management (ConAm) won't evict for noise issues (at least they haven't for us) because they say that they would need "enough proof", but when we make a complaint then they do inform the neighbor that the complaint was made against. This gets old because we are constantly complaining, about LOUD music coming through the common walls. Complaining does work though because the neighbors get tired it and so now it's alot more peaceful than it used to be.I think the management is lousy and two faced- When we first told them our problems (LOUD music) they tried to act like they would bend over backward to help us- but as time went on - and our constant complaints the manager -looks at us like we are the problem. If they would just evict the noisy neighbor them we would not have to complain constantly!!!Ohh and lets not get started on the Management Company ConAm- talk about RUDE!!! Our managers supervisor was very rude when we tried address certain issues like BASS when my son was tying to do his homework. We are planning on moving soon! I do have a tip on how to contact the Real Owners of the property if you do have a complaint - Fictitious Business Names through the County Clerk - our county has computers that you use in the County Clerks Office. Example if I type in Villa La Jolla - it will give me the owners names. I hope that this helps!!!

Apartment Reviews - Edgewater, Bakersfield

Edgewater
8200 Kroll Way
Bakersfield, CA

Overall Rating: 3 (out of 5)

Review: I found Edgewater online and actually planned to move there before I was able to travel to Bakersfield and see it in person.Risky, I know, but they have a deal where you can get out of your lease before 30 days if you don't like it, so I thought it was worth a shot.Edgewater is quiet and the lake is nice. The apartments themselves are a little older and a little run-down in appearance from the outside, but they are currently working on painting them this summer (2005).I chose this place because of how it looked on the website and it allows dogs. Also, the washer/dryer in the apartment is nice. The office staff are a little scatter-brained.They lost a package of mine for three weeks before they found it in their office (I had to finally call DHL and get the name of the person who signed for it). Also, they made a mistake in calculating our new lease terms, trying to charge us for a two bedroom instead of a one bedroom, which didn't matter since we are moving out of the area anyways.Overall, it is an okay place to live, but in retrospect I would have chosen Cambridge Village if I had it to do all over again.I have some friends there, and the apartments have the same ammenities and allow small and large dogs, and are a little nicer and newer.
