Upstairs there is a lot of fighting and wrestling, sounds like the ceiling will cave in. We call mgmt and they never respond. A dog on 3rd floor used to spill dog food and urine through to our level, after complaining, still nothing done for a while, but floors on upstairs balconies must be closed in, not slats as they are now. Parking is good but we are moving out, don't feel safe there, as neighbors trash the parking lots, fight a lot, gates are not secure as tailgaters come through constantly with no problem, and complaints are on deaf ears. Not a safe community - roomy units, yes, parking good, yes, mgmt trying to help with matters is desirable. Otherwise, the pool is nice, small washateria, but maintenance is slow responding, and mgmt needs a lot of improvement. Kitchen is poorly set up, dishwasher opens in front of the sink, impossible to fill dishwasher without leaning way over sink.

Apartment Reviews - Castlebrook, Baton Rouge

Castlebrook
4944 S Sherwood Forest Blvd
Baton Rouge, LA

Overall Rating: 3.5 (out of 5)

Review: I guess my review is a bit biased because i moved in a few months before a major remodel, which the management did not mention upon lease signing by the way.I also specifically requested not to have an apartment directly facing traffic-hell Sherwood Forest (b/c of the noise), which they promised me, they even let me pick out a unit from the available ones. But upon move-in day I was told there was a problem with the unit I chose & I found myself moving into one directly facing the street.I also had extremely loud neighbors who I had to bear for a whole year, even after numerous complaints. So with the combination of jack-hammers from remodeling, horns and engines from the street, and wall shaking music from my neighbors, I got little peace and quiet. However, I do owe generous thanks to the wonderful maintenance staff who came out on a holiday to fix my air conditioner in the summer heat. All I can say is check it out yourself, & you be the judge.

Apartment Reviews - Classic Heights, Baton Rouge

Classic Heights
11445 Bard Ave
Baton Rouge, LA

Overall Rating: 3 (out of 5)

Review: great

Apartment Reviews - St. Jean Apartments, Baton Rouge

St. Jean Apartments
16441 S. Harrell's Ferry Rd.
Baton Rouge, LA

Overall Rating: 3 (out of 5)

Review: I might agree that the apartment complex is a bit unsafe. But, I am from Decatur, Georgia (an upper middle class community of professional black people in the Metro Atlanta area) and everything about BATON ROUGE is scarey to me, not my apartment complex. Also rapes, drugs, and gunshots happen everywhere here. The murder capital is 45 minutes away. Lastly, don't froget that quite a bit of white people are involved in rapes, drugs, and the shooting off of guns everywhere here in Louisiana. Truthfully, the apartment complex was not bad, is the state of Louisiana bad because of a few bad people? My parents wanted me to hurry and graduate because they were afraid of my safety in BATON ROUGE, not where I lived. It doesn't matter where you live if the crime is EVERYWHERE!!! Yes, I would recomend this apartment complex, I just wouldn't recommend the city.

Apartment Reviews - Willow Bend Lake Apartments, Baton Rouge

Willow Bend Lake Apartments
11070 Mead Rd.
Baton Rouge, LA

Overall Rating: 3 (out of 5)

Review: i had a bad experience living here. The traffic from the IBM building next door makes it difficult to get to sherwood forest between 4 pm and 6 pm.Expect a 20 minute delay.
Also, the gate system doesn't work for letting guests in.Lots of times there will be 5-6 cars backed up because a guest is blocking the gate access and it gets hung up.
Very little parking up front.Especially after people return home from work.
Someone was robbed there when i lived there.management asked for information 4 days after the robbery.
Overall, I think it is too expensive for the money.Better places elsewhere.

Apartment Reviews - Spires Of Sherwood, Baton Rouge

Spires Of Sherwood
11888 Old Hammond Hwy.
Baton Rouge, LA

Overall Rating: 1 (out of 5)

Review: Worst place Ive ever lived at - and I've seen quite a few. Noisy and dirty, and getting worse every year. The only area that looks pretty is the spot in front of the leasing office. Theexercise roomis a cemetery of broken machines. The maintenance guy comes to convince you that you do not have a problem instead of fixing it. No heat insulation to speak of huge energy bills. Terrible manager (Charlotte Dupuy or something close to that) very nice and will promise anything until you sign the lease. Once you have signed it, you are out of luck. Lies to your face, and when the lies are challenged gets rude and hostile in an instant. I have never experienced anything as depressing as that place and never been so happy to move out.

Apartment Reviews - Spires Of Sherwood, Baton Rouge

Spires Of Sherwood
11888 Old Hammond Hwy.
Baton Rouge, LA

Overall Rating: 1 (out of 5)

Review: The manager, Charlotte, is untrustworthy and unprofessional. Impossible to get her to do anything including things she has promised she would do. "I have to do what my regional manager tells me" will be her answer to everything. That includes keeping your deposit, by the way. Another explanation she offered was "it's in your lease". When I came back 2 minutes later with the lease in my hands - she locked herself in the office, closed the blinds, and sent out two maintenance guys to ask me to leave. Some manager, eh?

Apartment Reviews - Bluebonnet Place Apt, Baton Rouge

Bluebonnet Place Apt
9989 Burbank Dr
Baton Rouge, LA

Overall Rating: 4.83 (out of 5)

Review: I have lived at BBP for 4 years and it has been wonderful.Occasionally you have loud neighbors, but that hasn't been much of a problem, the courtesy officer keeps parties at a reasonable level. While some of the interior work could have been done more professionally, the management makes an effort to maintain their buildings. The maintenance staff is top-notch with repairs made the same day or next if possible. The office staff has undergone numerous changes since I have been around, but as always they are respectful and wonderful to deal with.Location is slightly out of the way, but in driving distance to everywhere.Being from the country, this place makes living in Baton Rouge feel not too different from home.

Apartment Reviews - University Gardens Apartments, Baton Rouge

University Gardens Apartments
2750 Alaska St
Baton Rouge, LA

Overall Rating: 1 (out of 5)

Review: For$250/month what can you expect? But things have not been going great there. In the past year we've had alot of car breakins, there's alot of loitering at night, Old apartment manager seemed to use trickery to get us to sign up.Promises were not kept.Security lights have been burnt out probably 90% of our stay.New management seems to be turning the place around, but still needs ALOT of work.On site Maintenance worker very friendly and knows his stuff, but things that have to be called out for (plumbing, electricity etc) take FOREVER...At night when trying to sleep its either listen to the electrical plant buzzing at night or very very loud car stereos loitering in the parking lot.Not recommended...Glad we got out.
